Questions & Answers

SHURANDY M : I’m size 10, what size should I get in these if I wish to use barefoot?Mario C : 8/9 possibly the 7/8STACY M : They run large. I wear a size 7 shoe and purchased the 5-6. Plus they are worn with a 1.5mm fin sock and they fit perfectly. My opinion is you purchase the 8-9 pair.JEFF V : My street shoe is 12, my Cressida Gara modulars are a 44/45 10-11. I wear them barefoot and they are not snug. They fit perfect with out restriction or cramping and never have I felt that I was going to loose one because of too loose of a fit. I use mine for tropical scuba. I swim a modified frog kick and live these fins. They are the single most important gear tweak that I have performed that has helped improve my gas consumption. I ankle skull with long periods of venting between kicks/skulls. When I need power to swim up current or speed to chase an object, they deliver. If these are your first long fins, strong and conditioned leg muscles are recommended.
Lazaro D : this price is for the pair?William P : Yes
VAN V : I am using Gara 3000 LD size 8-9/42-43 with no socks. Which size of Gara Modular Pro should I use with no socks? 8-9/42-43 OR 7-8/40-41? Thank you.Michael N : Gara modular is based off the gara 3000, that being said from what i've read and from using the modular its a bit large on fit, if i wasn't wearing something to save me from blisters my size would eat me up a bit on the heels. So you should be okay at the size you're used to, but worse come to worse exchange for smallerBRENT B : Unless you’re LDs are too big then stick with the same size 8-9GREG W : My hub doesn’t wear socks w any of them.
Eugene D : What is the stiffness of the blades? Are they like the HD 2000 or the LD?PAVEL K : blades are less stiff then 2000 or 3000. I had a problem with a foot pocked, which git ripped just after bit more then 1 year and not so much use!!SEAN A : About he same stiffness as the Gara 2000's.EUGENE M : I haven't owned or used the HD2000 so I can't speak about those. I have owned the Long Distance fins and the Modular Fins. The modular are stiffer than the LD fins. Both are great fins. If you are diving in 50 feet of water or less and diving all day; I would recommend the Long distance fins. Your ankles will thank you for it. I have made dives to 70 feet with the LD fins, but bottom time suffered because of the softer fins. The Modular fins allowed me to dive deeper with less effort, enabling me to kill more fish, but after diving all day, I could feel it in my ankles and knees a little more. Great thing about the modular fins is you can upgrade to a set of carbon blades down the road. I never did buy carbon fins because I used to spend a lot of time laying on rocks and didn't want to trash a $300 set of blades. Hope this helps you make your decision.DANIELLE B : Not familiar with those examples. I guess they would be medium stiffness, they are not so flexible that they don't propel but not so stiff that they can't move water.HENRY L : The foot pockets are for narrow feet in my opinion. Certainly not for a wide foot. They claim the Blade Material: is a Special Reactive Thermo-Plastic. I tend to agree that for a plastic fin blade the flex and power is smooth and strong without being stiff. They are my favorite plastic blades that preform well for hours on end.MATT S : I'd say they are similar to the Cressi gara 2000 fins. Hope this helps.
Shopper : How and where can we get the replacement blades? How stiff are the blades that come with the foot shoes? Who sells stiffer blades? How much? I don’t find them in LeisurePro’s website. Thanks to anyone kind enough to give a realistic answer.YAN G : These are not that stiff, and more of a starter freediving fin. Here is the carbon blade: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-csbcbc/cressi-gara-modular-carbon-camouflage-blade-one-blade.

Fit was my issue

I have skinny feet and wear size 9 1/2 -10 USA. I ordered size 8-9 fins. When they arrived they felt like they fit. I have owned Cressi fins 8-9 before on a different model and they worked great. Well with Cressi new wide fit they didn't stay on for long and came right off I am ordering another size down 7-8 hope they work better but this seems strange as someone who has never owned a shoe size of 7 or 8 since elementary. I hope they work better.

Perfect gift for my friend/dive instructor

These are long! Blades are rather stiff so they might take some getting used to. These were a gift for my friend, who is a dive instructor. He loved them and the other instructors and dive masters were a little jealous of them. I like that the blades are replaceable if either blades get damaged or boots wear out.

Comfortable and durable

Not sure what the other guy meant by "my boots are gone" but I've had these fins for 2 years and love them. Have made countless dives with rocky shore entries and these fins have taken a beating.

Super comfortable & powerful fins

I only use these fins for spearfishing & freediving because that's what they were made for. All the foot area is extremely comfortable, softness where you need it and strong where you need to get the power from. One big addition on these Cressi fins: Interchangeable blades, I hope Cressi starts making the Camo Blades soon... Long and powerful enough to take you deep and to get you through strong currents. Since the blade is stiff, you should do some trainning before you go for a long dive so your muscles don't hurt. Overall: Great fin and super comfortable. 5 stars!

Great Freedive Fin

Great power yet not too stiff so as to overly strain the ankles. Way oversized in my opinion. I wore 5 mil booties and they were still a full size too big. Ordered the next size down and they fit great.

GARA PRO
GARA PRO

Long Fins vs. Short Fins

Long fins provide greater forward propulsion. They allow you to travel farther, while exerting less energy. In contrast, shorter fins make it easier to change directions and allow you to kick at a faster rate.

GARA PRO

Maximum Power, Minimum Energy

With the foot pocket located below the blade, these fins are able to provide power with little effort. Along with the long length of the blade and its lightweight design, the positioning of the foot pocket eases the dispersion of energy throughout the fin, increasing the performance of the user.

GARA PRO

Soft elastomer for comfort

The anatomy of the foot pocket has been redesigned and, if possible, further improved compared to the already much appreciated shoe pockets of the Cressi Gara. The use of a new, particularly soft elastomer further increases comfort. The Gara Professional LD is an exceptionally soft full foot pocket style fin, which provides comfort during prolonged use on those long days in the water.

GARA PRO

After the great success of the Gara Professional and the Gara 3000 LD Cressi has combined the two designs and characteristics into the Gara Professional LD. The blade is made from a specialelastomerpolypropylene which gives a longer lasting, more fluid, softer kick that is less demanding, making it ideal for covering long distances. The use of this new plastic is less reactive than the Compo-flex used in the Gara Professional. It is a progressive and controlled blade, with flexibility and gives an extremely fluid kick. Together with the exceptional lightness and non-dispersion of effort, the kick is more effective and easier than ever. As with the other Gara fins (2000HP, 3000LD and Gara Professional) the Gara Professional LD fins are made using processes that meet high standards of precision and compliance with strict technical parameters.

Foot Pocket:as with the Gara Professional fins, the new foot pocket of the Gara Professional LD has been designed to fit on the bottom of the actual fin blade. This feature, together with a well-designed blade-foot pocket combination, reduces the fining effort and the dispersion of energy during fining The shape of the foot pocket has been redesigned and improved further compared to the highly regarded foot pocket of the other Cressi Gara fins. The use of a new, more flexible elastomer makes the foot pocket more comfortable.

Who are they for?The new Gara Professional LD are for all those divers who wish to benefit from the extraordinary performance of a long fin, without, havin to use too much muscle strength, the ideal effort-productivity ratio can offer even higher performance than when using the more rigid and reactive Gara Professional. Perfect for long kicks, cold water fining, and ideal for use with Scuba the Gara Professional LD fins will deliver! Fin is available in multiple sizes.
