Questions & Answers

Shopper : What is included with this?KEVIN F : Gun, band, shaft, line.
JUNI P : Can model110 gun use model 100 shaft?ANDREY N : I use 75 shaft on 60 gun, so I am pretty sure you can. BTW, I have both 75 and 60 shafts, and I like short one anywaysSERGIO A : Of course yes but it will change how the shaft goes. If you usually shoot close to you no problem . If you shoot far it could be not precise. Than it depend of the gun you are putting in. If they are original I don't think you'll have problem. Good luck
Gregory B : Total length of 75cm including shaft of speargun?YAN G : No, that is just the length of the gun.
Jerome A : what diameter replacement band should I get for a comanche 110cm?YAIR C : 18 mmPHILIP G : 18mm is what is comes with, but you can put 16mm or 20mm on it. Remember, you are putting more strain on the mechanism whenever you put a larger band on a gun.
alexis l : what does the cressi comanche speargun come with?YAN G : As shown in "whats in the Box", this comes with the gun, shaft, shockline, sling and spearpoint.

Great value and accurate

You can't beat these guns for accuracy and price. We use them as a gun of choice for research diving when we have to collect fish. There are other, better guns, but for way more money.

Great speargun

The 75cm comanche is my go to speargun for 90 percent of the spearfishing that I do. It's durable, very accurate, and easy to use. I would not recommend using multiple bands on it, you will lose accuracy. Keep the tip sharp with a file, take your time to work on a precise shot, and you should enjoy this speargun very much. If you are hunting clearer waters go with a longer gun. If you are hunting big fish, you may want to look at the cressi pacific speargun. I really like that cressi still makes their products in Italy. Enjoy

Limited range - entry level

Pro The trigger is easy to pull, probably due to the euro design Pro It seems possible to add a second rubber band loosely through the hole in the front because there are two wishbone slots on the spear. This might increase the range. However, there are zero factory recommendations about how to do this...like what length and strength of rubber band to use. Con Range. The maximum range I have been able to push the flapper through a fish is only about 6 feet from the end of the speargun. I have hit fish beyond that range and there isn't enough force to push the flapper through so they escape with a hole in their side. Con After only 6 times at sea the trigger no longer springs back forward after a shot. I have to manually pull it forward and then the spear can lock into place again. It's scary and make me wonder if it will break down even more. There seems to be no way to open and grease the trigger mechanism. Con The bracing stem that goes against your chest is from hell. It has ridges to keep it from slipping, but all they do is create painful points. Besides, I had to duct tape a pad to it so it's slippery anyway now. The only real solution I can see is to increase the size of the brace and leave it flat texture. Con No replaceable speartip. Con I keep hearing that the metal wishbone is more dangerous than the strong thread called spectra. It seems the latter would be cheaper for the factory to install. Con The flapper ruins the aerodynamics of the spear by protruding out so far from the shaft. Modifications I use fishing monofilament 60 pounds instead of the black cord that came with the speargun. I use three swivels to eliminate line twisting. I use a crimp to make the loop tying the line to the spear. I am seriously considering adding a second band because of the fish I have barely lost due to lack of power. If it works then this will be a 4/5 star gun due to needing modification without factory guidance.

Cressi Commanche 60

The Cressi Commanchee comes complete and ready for action. You will need to string your line. We always add a shock cord or bungee to the line. I will say for its small stature the 60cm packs a very impressive punch. It is a tough monkey to load though, very tight bands, better be hitting the weight room often. My 75 and 90's are much easier to load but I don't think they are anymore powerful. We use the 60 for river fishing and tight places. The Commanchee has a one piece shaft, meaning the tip is not replaceable. You can buy additional threaded shafts and experiment with different tips, the key is to keep the points sharp. I have ordered the S-45 competition bands 18.5 (2 cm longer than stock) for a little easier load and to be able to pull to the second notch on the spear shaft, hoping, we'll see how that works out...
