The light functions perfectly and it will do as a backup, but I think I don't really see the purpose for a dive light below 1000 lumens.

Orca torch

Bought it as a backup. It won’t illuminate much during the day time if you’re using it to look under ledges, coral etc... But it will work fine at night as a backup to get you back to your exit, or to just to have it on so fellow divers know your position. Single alkaline AA battery last about an hour, the rechargeable lithium-ion last even less. It is brighter with the Li, but that’s the trade-off. But being water proof, I’m using it for most everything around the house in any weather condition, just keep replacing the battery. Gave it a 4 star because it is well built and small enough to carry along. Just not the best for conditions outside of a night backup.

Good value for a day light

Small and easy to use, bright enough to look in holes and cracks during the day. Good value for the money. Have not used it at night.

Small, dim and inconvenient

You only get 630 lumens if you get a special battery, that is not provided. AAA batteries only 100 lumens. Very small and the only way to turn on is to twist the basil, which they say should not be done under water. So if you turn on before the dive the batteries only last an hour

Probably going to love it

I haven't had the opportunity to dive with it yet, but out of the box I think I am going to really like it. It is light [runs on 1 AA battery] but puts out quite a beam of light. It seems sturdy, so if it holds up under water the way it is advertised I will know I got a real bargain on this one.

Blue Reef flashlight

It is a small but bright light. It has only one double A battery. It is great as a pocket flashlight fo swim through. I use it to backlight and remove shadows for my wife's underwater pictures. I would not use is as a primary light for night dives, but it would be a good backup in an emergency. It is a good light for short term use.
