It is designed to be a convenience fastener, with convenient slide gates. Those gates are not typically used where significant weight is attached. I use it on my canister light, smb, camera gear.

If I can say that it is resistant to salt water, the spring of the bolt that closes does not harden does not lock in its operation, it supports the weight of an AL 80 tank full of air, about 18 kilos (40 pounds approximately), in synthesis it is rustic and works well.

Don't waste your money

Piece of crap. The clips stay open and I ended up throwing them out before even using them. I contacted cudtomer service but they needed photos of the box before I opened it to get a refund, I didn't expect them to sell my garbage or I would have done so

Snap bolts are a great way to keep gear in place, but easily accessible. Also, it is much easier to clip on/off your BC compared with a plastic clip or split key ring. Best value that I could find for a stainless steel double ended snap bolt. I purchased summer 2020.

The snaps have performed great.

The snaps are great quality and do just what they are supposed to. I switched most of my gear to SS snaps instead of retractable tethers. I look much less like a Christmas tree.

Quality double-enders

These seem to be quality double-enders with solid snap action. No sharp edges or any other defects that I've seen or felt. The 3.25" size is a little small for my hands (I wear M/L gloves), especially with thicker gloves on. I'm sure my dive buddies with smaller hands will put them to good use though.

I have plenty of these on hand. If U spear fish and lobster hunt, these are essential for attaching bags, stringers, lights, reels and many other accessories. Easy to open with gloves on too. Quality SS.

Easy to disconnect

Bought this to connect my underwater camera to my BCD. Very easy to connect and disconnect. Had a lot of trouble disconnecting with the plastic kind but with this steel one I can disconnect my camera in seconds.

difficult to use

I purchased two of these bolt snaps. They were not easy two open and one of them even had a sharp edge. They were replaced with two new ones however they were also difficult to use.

Did the job

Cheaper than most of the other brands offered and did what they were designed to do, but with regular exposure to salt water expect them to get stiff and require replacement every 1-2 years.

These seem to be quality double-enders with solid snap action. No sharp edges or any other defects that I've seen or felt. The 3.25" size is a little small for my hands (I wear M/L gloves), especially with thicker gloves on. I'm sure my dive buddies with smaller hands will put them to good use though.
