It?s what I wanted. It is bigger than some SMB?S but I prefer the higher visibility, that?s the point.

I wanted a good quality product that would fit my need but would not be very expensive. I do not need to carry this all the time but feel more confident I have it for those dives in wide open areas where visibility could be an issue.

Great Safety Sausage. Works well. Have needed to use it a couple of times and it is tall enough the boat always finds me.

wish it were a bit less bulky, but a necessary evil to have a nice long SMB for drift dives and areas with boat traffic

This Signal Tube I ordered is to large to hook on your BC if you are a recreational diver...better suited to a dive master who is responsible for a group. I should have checked out the dimensions first before ordering given that it's 6" wide.

Have had one really bad day in 15 years of diving. I have this always in my BCD and have used it once. But it was a day when the waves escalated from 4 to 10 feet cutting off the rocky shore exit. The fog had rolled in and got worse while waiting on the coast guard. My whistle was pathetic hung too long on my BCD and I never checked it. But they spotted the tube fully inflated. A bad judgment day on my part to be in the water. This safety sausage probably saved my life saving me from a Darwin award.

Awesome, LARGE, surface Marker that is easy to use. If you want to be seen, don't settle for saving a couple of bucks on a smaller, cheap marker. Get this big one. I purchased one of each color, one for me and one for my wife. It always pays to be prepared and "think safety" all the time.

Bought it for recreational use and returned it. Much larger than expected and only inflates orally. I will be looking for another SMB.

I used this product for last six years on weekly base until I lost it. I was so used to this product that I feel unsafe with out it. So I ordered new ASAP

has overfill valve so no worries about popping as you ascend. clip a little flimsy. would recommend upgrading

Good quality and relatively easy to use. It does require a fair amount of air to inflate it though, so someone with 'small' lungs might have some trouble. Works well, though.

i do not use this product very often but in most cases it surfices well. I did have a problen on one difficult dive. We were in rough water and I signaled the boat using my signal marker. Once the boat acknowlage are location and started to pick us up I deflate my marker. (the marker was attached to a ring on my BC). Due to the rough sea we were thrown a line and were being pulled behind the boat. I had a very rough time getting my fins off and getting into the boad. Once in the boad I foud that the signal tube was full of water. The dump valve must have stuck open or the cord was trapped during the exit from the water. I suggest rolling up the tube and secure it before exiting the water. I would recommend this item with reversations.

Haven't used this while diving yet, but it looks solid. Can be blown up in 3 or 4 big breaths. Pressure relief valve is a nice feature.

Well made which makes it a bit heavy. However its worth the tradeoff.

I tried to use this as a "hang-buoy" with a reel for safety stops but the oral inflator is quite fuzzy to use below the surface and negates the use of the second stage or octopus to inflate it. Get instead an open ended one, or the "deluxe" sibling that allegedly offers alternative inflation via the 2nd stage. Fine on the surface where you can deploy it at leisure. A loop to attach a small lamp would come handy for night dives.

MUST HAVE SAFETY SAUSAGE
By mike j.
USED THIS RECENTLY.... EASY TO INLATE EVEN BY MOUTH. 4 TO 5 BREATHS. ALSO USED FOR SNORKLING UNDER ARMS... REALLY HELPED W BOUYANCY.
Blue Reef Diver Below 6' (1.83m) Signal Tube:
The Blue Reef Diver-Below Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) is a great safety device that all serious divers carry on every dive. The SMB is the smart way for a diver to mark their location when making safety stops, completing mandatory decompression stops and signaling the boat if they surface a distance away from the boat. This 6' (1.83m) long signal tube can be stowed easily in a regular pocket or clipped out of the way on your BCD. When the SMB is inflated it is long enough to be easily seen from a distance and sturdy enough to stand up to any weather conditions you may encounter. It is also conveniently labeled with "Diver Below" so you can send it up to mark your location.
Surface Marker Buoy features an easy to use oral inflation valve with lock to prevent accidental deflation as well as a larger over pressure/dump valve. The SMB is also equipped with a D-ring at the top for attachment of a light, strobe or chemical light for use at night. Blue Reef's SMB's are available in multiple colors. Don't risk not being seen in an emergency, pick up a Diver-Below SMB today.
