This is my second atomic mask and I love the fit and the clarity. I?Äôm a photographer so understand the importance of good glass. The only issue with these masks is that they seem to require a bit more prep out of the box to keep from fogging. I had major issues with my first atomic, but for this one I haven?Äôt had an issue (or maybe I finally found an algorithm that works). I did gentle cycle in dishwasher x1 then mask scrub x1 and toothpaste with sonicare toothbrush (Soft head) x2. No issues with fogging.

The mask was as I had expected. No flaws. A bit heavier than the other masks I own, but the quality is great overall. The ARC coating is a bit hard to wipe at first in order to preserve it, but it gets better as you use it.

Wish I could give a more negative rating, Worst face mask I’ve ever experienced, unusable. Should have know it had no quality or substance with such a ridiculous name “Atomic Venom”. Paid near $300.00, threw it away in disgust.

Wide field of view, seals quite nicely, all around this is a great mask, the only issue I have had was cleaning off the protective sealant on the mask when I first got it.

As imagined, very nice mask (for its price it should be). No Leaks, confortable and excellent fit. The only point is that in the first dives it got foggy, even cleaning with many different types of solutions. Issue was resolved only when I burned the internal part of the lens to get rid of the factory substances that were causing the issue. Now is perfect. Very bright and clear lens, good wide vision. If I would pay again 200 bucks for it? Maybe.

Great mask, the glass really does make a difference. It's like the difference between looking through regular sun glasses and polarized gun glasses. But, if you have a relatively narrow face like I do, it leaks like a sieve. I liked the glass so much I tried to put up with the constant stream of water running in, but just couldn't handle clearing my mask ever 30 seconds. So if you've got the right sized head, I'd give it a 5.

Have bought way to many masks to count over the years trying to get the perfect one. This one for me is well worth the money

I have been diving for 51 years and this is the finest glass I have ever looked through. The wide view on the bottom portion of the mask is a plus....great fit too.

Not much vision with this, the internal frame around the nose at the top sits against the top of my nose, right between the eyes. At depth this would simply be impossible to use. Also, the nose section is so big that it is view restricting. This is not a mask you throw into you're gear bag, it will scratch the lens and that's it after that. Not for me.

Perfect fit

I have been diving for 51 years and this is the finest glass I have ever looked through. The wide view on the bottom portion of the mask is a plus....great fit too.
When you learned how to dive your instructor told you the most important part of choosing equipment was comfort and fit. When looking for a mask you also need a great field of vision well this mask was designed to meet those and more desirable qualities. Frameless masks give the diver the widest field of view in a single lens mask design. The Venom Frameless is incredibly comfortable with low-volume, hydrodynamic construction and exclusive Atomic Aquatics wicked styling. Co-molded with two silicone materials in two levels of softness two different hardness silicone materials are co-molded together to form the mask skirt which is bonded directly to the glass, eliminating the need for a frame and providing maximum viewing area.
Gummi Bear ultra-soft (10 shore) silicone creates an incredibly soft yet reliable face seal. Provides an incredibly soft and accommodating face seal for all kinds of faces. New special geometry of the face seal is optimized to take full advantage of the ultra-soft silicone material. The ridged silicone skirt section is also soft but won't collapse, distort, or fold under pressure or in turbulent conditions. Keeps the skirt centered on the face for a reliable seal. And the mask features the exclusive Atomic Aquatics UltraClear lens. It will change the way you think about dive masks.
The mask has a low volume profile to add to the increased field of vision. Low volume also makes mask clearing easier due to less water needing to be displaced. Mask is equipped with easy squeeze adjust buckles that are mounted behind the lens for a more hydrodynamic design. A single window like the Atomic Aquatics Frameless, but it has a high bridge and tear-drop shape like the SubFrame's dual-window design. Its easy-to-use squeeze-to-adjust buckles are soft-mounted to the mask skirt, which allows flexibility in strap positioning, plus they can be folded flat for packing.
Where the Venom differs from its SubFrame and Frameless cousins is in its lens construction. While the SubFrame and Frameless lenses use ultra-clear glass, which has a reputation for optical quality in its own right, on the Venom Mask, Atomic Aquatics uses an even higher-quality glass imported from Germany. What makes UltraClear special? Did you ever notice that normal dive mask lenses have a green tint to the glass? To see this tint, put your existing mask up to a piece of white paper and see for yourself. The green tint you see is the result of iron impurities left over in lower quality float or window type glass. That green tint distorts true colors and blocks out some of the light that reaches the eye. UltraClear is a new and exciting optical quality glass with exceptional clarity and high light transmission, with no color distortion. The exceptionally high light transmittance and lack of distortion in the UltraClear lens maximizes the light available for improved visual acuity, especially underwater in low light conditions. Called Schott Superwite glass, it allows more light to penetrate than even ultra-clear glass. The imported from Germany glass is Schott Superwite UltraClear lens that allows up to 96% of available light to reach the eyes.
In addition, the Venum ARC Mask has an a anti-reflective coating which allows more light to enter the mask and reduce light reflection. This makes seeing through the mask better above and below the water. Atomic Aquatics developed ARC (Anti-Reflective Coating) technology to reduce reflected light and increase the amount of available light transmitted to a diver's eyes. The result is a greatly Improved transmission of 98% of available light, compared to a loss of more than 14% of light with standard green float glass used on most masks on the market. Anti-Reflective Coatings or ARC is a multi-layer metal oxide coating process applied to both sides of the ultra-clear lenses. This allows more light to enter the mask by reducing light reflections off the inside and outside surface of the lens. The metal oxide coating is only a few microns thick. ARC will give you clearer, crisper vision. You will see more clearly underwater and objects in the distance will become more defined and acute. ARC also increases contrast and clarity, reduces eyestrain, glare, and prevents ghost images on the viewing area of the lens. ARC is an absolute must for night diving, limited visibility conditions, and underwater photographers.
As with all Atomic Aquatics masks the Venom has a double feathered edge silicone rubber skirt with a wide split strap design, which in combination, afford an excellent fit and seal on the face. A one-handed nose well for easy ear equalization brings the lens of the mask closer to the diver's face further increasing the field of vision. The Venom comes with a mask box for transport and storage.
