Shopper : Does this mask have the gummy bear silicone?ROBERT B : Not sure what gummy bear silicone is - but I can tell you that the silicone is very soft and pliable. Hope that helps.

Mine does not.TODD K : For most single glass masks, you need to have the corrective lens added. There are several companies that can do this. Basically they glue on corrections lens onto the inside glass plate. It works very well but does add to the cost.Monica s : No it is not.

The coating takes some time to wear off.KENNETH G : Dawn dish detergent works great... just ensure you clean it all out after!YAN G : Yes, you can use a white toothpaste, non-gel. That will not damage the glass.

Meh....

I so badly wanted this to be the best mask on the planet. I wanted to spend the most money to get the best mask. Long story short, the mask was not comfortable and provided the same "vision" as my other mask (Hollis M1 Frameless - which is amazing) I wouldn't recommend this mask. not bc it isnt a nice mask. its very nice. it's just not any better than a lot of good masks out there.

Venom > outstanding fit and view

wow. yup, its very expensive but what a field of view! and my own optician is adding my prescription to the inside of the lenses, which has worked out best for me due to my astigmatism. officially, this specific mask doesnt offer "correction" from the sellers, however, so know your optical shops abilities. did i mention the field of view?

Love It

The lens on this mask is amazing. I shoot video, and I sometimes found it hard to tell if I was focused well on tiny critters. I can see much better now, and it is hard to imagine using anything else now. I had a little trouble with it fogging at first, despite cleaning it with toothpaste, etc. I was also worried that it was too leaky. But after awhile I realized that the leaks were because I was smiling because I could see stuff better. After a few dives, it was fine.

Atomic Aquatics Venom Mask is a blending of Atomic Aquatics SubFrame and Frameless Masks. It has a reinforcing internal frame that's molded directly beneath the surface of the silicone rubber skirt, like on the Subframe, yet it offers the relatively low profile of the Frameless. A single window like the Atomic Aquatics Frameless, but it has a high bridge and tear-drop shape like the SubFrame's dual-window design. Its easy-to-use squeeze-to-adjust buckles are soft-mounted to the mask skirt, which allows flexibility in strap positioning, plus they can be folded flat for packing.

Where the Venom differs from its SubFrame and Frameless cousins is in its lens construction. While the SubFrame and Frameless lenses use ultra-clear glass, which has a reputation for optical quality in its own right, on the Venom Mask, Atomic Aquatics uses an even higher-quality glass imported from Germany. Called Schott Superwite glass, it allows more light to penetrate than even ultra-clear glass.

As with all Atomic Aquatics masks the Venom has a double feathered edge silicone rubber skirt with a wide split strap design, which in combination, afford an excellent fit and seal on the face. A one-handed nose well for easy ear equalization brings the lens of the mask closer to the diver's face further increasing the field of vision. The Venom comes with a mask box for transport and storage.
