I wanted to buy the boat now to avoid any out of stock or supply chain issues. It will not be on the water until the season starts in April 2024. I am familiar with Aire products. I own their Outfitter 2 tandem IK. I have also paddled similar models to their TomCat., A vendor in Oregon uses an IK provided by Aire. My only real complaint is that the Tomcat has different valves than the Outfitter. The OutFitter has what I believe are called Halkey Roberts valves. The TomCat has Summit 2 values. For extra credit on the annoyance factor, the TomCat thwart uses neither. It has a valve stem that requires you to use an easy-to-lose clear plastic tube attached to your pump. So when I go out on the water next spring, I need to carry 4 different pump adapters for Halkey Roberts, Summit2, the plastic tube, and whatever they call the valves on my SUP which is yet another different kind of valve. I like my OutFitter 2 so I am confident I will like the TomCat as well. I just wish the designers would stop cutting class at school on the days they teach common sense.. Four different valve adaptors? Seriously?

Bought the Tomcat Solo for boating the Colorado just east of Moab, Ut.. This is my first boat purchase and I have to say I love this boat. I also purchased thigh straps to go along with it and that gives me more stability in it. I have a modest gear storage area in the front but plenty of room behind the seat, enough room for two large packs, a pump and a rescue bag. Light enough for most to carry but it can be awkward placing it on top of my FJ Cruiser, it will take time to get used to that task. I have taken it out several times and just love it. A great purchase.
