Awesome Boat for our 50" Tall, 50lbs, 8 yr old. Had to dial in the seat position, and we are contemplating some sort of foot block to keep him in position. He can easily reach the water and control his boat.

I bought the Spud for a somewhat ridiculous float down an irrigation canal for a film project. My cohorts were in hard shell kayaks, and me not being a water person, that idea sounded terrifying. Hence the Spud, so I'd feel at least safe as we battled an overgrown canal, choked with downfall, Russian olive thorns, and impassable log jams. Let me just say that the Spud was the star of the show, and was the envy of my team. Unexpected portage? No problem. 3' leap down an embankment aiming for a boat? Like a champ! Repeat a section for the filming? So easy. The Spud survived all the thorns, the dragging over and under logs, the portages up and over downfall, and also was surprisingly fun and easy to maneuver. It's my favorite water related purchase to date. I can't wait to take it on an actual river float! Thanks Spud!

i LOVE my SPUD! it's PANK! i am 5'8", 150# 32 inseam. this thing fits great. my hardshell buds are so jelly of my spud! it ferries so easy! i have no problems catching eddies or surfing. love the self bailing feature. it drains super fast. i got the seat upgrade and thigh straps too. it rolls up small and fits in the trunk of my corolla easily. i find it is super easy at take out if i take all my stuff out first. then i can walk up the super steep hill with this on my head. GET ONE - you will love it.

I love my spud! I was worried because it's a youth kayak and I'm 5'8 but I still fit in it well, it paddles like a hard boat and is definitely good for shenanigans. I recommend

I just picked up this IF after several recommendations from my friends that do whitewater commonly, and boy do I love it! Durable, quick to set up, and even spacious enough for my 5'11" self along with a drybag behind me. If you are 200lb +, this might not be the kayak for you. If you are wanting a durable kayak for daily trips down simple rapids, this can't be beat.

Please don’t stop making these. The spud is a good time for adults too!! It’s like rafting but you are kayaking!
