Questions & Answers

Shopper : I have gotten new rubber weight belt from makorspearguns and it is similar to sporasub or omer rubber belt and it is thicker than usual. I need to add keeper so weight does slide. I have plastic keeper, but they are too small to fit. Will this keeper fit? If not, is there anything else that might fit? Thanks.CHARLES C : These will work but the trick is stretching the belt to get it to slide on. In most cases good freedive weights are made to go on the same way so you don’t need a keeper. If you have the buckle type belt with the holes in it these will be very difficult to use. If it’s a pinch type folding buckle with a smooth rubber belt these will work ok. Plastic ones usually just end up breaking after salt and sun and the pressure from the belt in my experience..VITALIY G : Check your belt width. With standard nylon belts these work better than plastic ones, but I never tried weight keepers on rubber belts.ROLAND P : I don't know. I am using on standard nylon web belt.MATTHEW K : I have no idea. you may want to measure width of belt. I know it fits a regular nylon wt. belt. I prefer metal keepers to plastic. not only are they less bulky but i have had the plastic ones break. MKDAVID H : I bought these for a traditional weight belt made from parachute webbing and they are a tight fit. So if your rubber belt is thicker, they probably won't work. Before the advent of these, if my belt was long enough, I would insert the webbing in one weight slot, half twist the belt, then insert through the other weight slot and this would keep them in place. Don't know if this would be feasible with the rubber belt. Good luck.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?MICHAEL L : Keepers worked well keeping weights in place.GINNIFER L : To add them to my Razor bcKATHERINE N : They are slimmer than the plastic keepers and sometimes work better depending on your size and shape of weights. But you must rinse your belt real well after salt water or they will get rust spots.

SS weight belt keeper

Great keeper for web weight belts, they will not fit the rubber expandable weight belts though which I was told by Leisure Pro they would fit all weight belts. So now I have 10 keepers that I cannot use.

Is what it is, Works great

Its a steel keeper. It does the job it was designed to do. Has just enough space to fit webbing through two times (depending on how stiff your webbing is).

Works as expected.

These work as they should. Unlike some of my other keepers, the center on these is bent slightly upward to make them stay in place better. Good improvement on the classic keeper. Looking at them you wouldn't notice a difference, they appear to match the flat keepers. I gave them 4/5 because the price was a bit high for such a simple piece of metal.

Keeps everything in place

I originally bought this item to replace all the plastic ones when I bought my first harness. They do the job and work well in other applications for diving. If you need it to hold more than 2 layers of webbing consider one that is slightly larger, it can tough fitting more than 2.

Good Product

This keeper can also be used to secure your harness and strapping (webbing) to your back-plate, as well as your crotch strap. Due to its steel construction, it eliminates a failure point because it will not break due to wear and tear like some other products do.

SS weight belt keeper

Great keeper for web weight belts, they will not fit the rubber expandable weight belts though which I was told by Leisure Pro they would fit all weight belts. So now I have 10 keepers that I cannot use.

Wearing a weight belt has advantages over other weight systems developed for diving. Weight belts allow the weight to be distributed evenly around the waist, and this configuration gives stability and center of gravity. However, if the weights are not securely anchored the can be a hassle. Aqua Stainless Steel Weight Keepers are used on belts to keep solid or soft weight pocket dive weights in place, preventing the loss of weight due to slippage. These Weight Keepers are fashioned from corrosion resistant stainless steel and feature blunted serration that anchors each keeper to the webbing for a solid, positive hold without damaging the webbing. Keepers are designed for standard 2" (5cm) webbing belts. Weight Keepers make a great save-a-dive-kit item.
