Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is the air bubble in the gauge face normal?? Is this pressure gauge accurate on PSI??darrick c : Hello, if it's a small bubble it should not have an issue. If the bubble it half the window, yes that would be an issue with reading correctly.
REGINALDO B : What is the warranty on this item? I did buy one dec 2019. It has a bubble on the display and it shows about 400 psi more than it should. Is that covered on the warranty? If yes hiw to proceed?Mario C : warranty is 12 months. out of warranty now. bubble is supposed to be there.
Ryan F : Will this work on helium tanks?KEVIN M : If you mean a helium cylinder from the gas company, than no, it will not work. All commercial inert gas cylinders (He, Ar, N2) have a CGA 580 valve, and this pressure checker can only interface with scuba tank fittings, which are unique and not part of the gas industry. If you mean a scuba cylinder filled with helium, then yes. Either yoke or DIN tanks are possible (with the proper adapters, if necessary), and the gas type does not matter in the North American scuba industry. The pressure measured is independent of the gas in the cylinder.Christopher A : Since helium is a specialized gas with unique properties I suggest contacting a local industrial gas provider near you and asking them what they use for helium tanks.PHIL S : Definitely a question for the manufacturer. First it needs to interface with a scuba tank k-valve, and then it measures pressure so I don't think it knows if it is air or any other gas. Helium is an inert gas so I can't see why there would be any harm. But, this type of question should always be made of the people who make the item instead of the general population who have bought this item and don't really know anything.DARRELL B : Not sure, this fits scuba valves. Don't see why it would not if you are connecting it to a scuba tank.
Shopper : Can this be used with a din tank?CYNTHIA B : Not without an adapterROBERT C : You'll need to screw a K valve adapter into the valve in order to use the pressure checker.MICHAEL M : The unit we have NOROLLAND F : No it will not. This is for the old standard style K and J valves. You would need to purchase on designed for the newer Din valveSTEPHEN T : I do not think soTOM B : no
Shopper : Does this tank pressure checker have a push button bleeder value?ROBERT L : Yes it does. Works well. Nice item.SARAH M : No. It has a twist knob, and everything works great! Sarah MooreE W J : This Tank Pressure Checker does NOT have a push button bleeder valve. It does have a turn-ring pressure relief (visible in the middle of the photo), but this is only meant to depressurize the gauge itself - it should only be opened when the tank valve is CLOSED. This is a strongly-made, very basic gauge-and-yoke unit. It only has two additional features: The gauge rotates freely (until the yoke is tightened down), so you can turn it to a convenient viewing angle; and the gauge body has a good, solid rubber protector, which covers the entire gauge except for the face, and provides a small hanging/mounting loop at the top.FLOYD G : No. The bleeder valve is the collar just below the gauge. Just turn it one way or the other and it will let the pressure escape.DANIEL B : No. The pressure bleed is a rotation ring on the main shaft of the unit.JOHN D : no it does not however the knurled ring below the gauge allows pretty slow exhausting of air by slow turningWAYNE K : not a push button, a ring you twist to bleed the pressureCARLYN T : The bleeder on my checker has a small ring around the stem under the gauge. You just tighten or loosen to check/bleed. It's easy and I've had no problems with it. My husband is an airhog so he wants a tank as full as possible. We have used the checker constantly for a couple of years and it is holding up very well.TERRY W : it is not a push button bleeder it is a screw threadSTEPHEN N : No, there's a knurled collar that rotates about 1/8 turn to release the pressure. You can see it just above the yoke portion.NATHAN K : The bleeder is not push button. There is a ring around the shaft right under the pressure gauge that when 1/4 twisted one way bleeds the system and twisted the other way makes it air tight.DAVID B : It's not a push button but it does have a pressure release on it rite at the buttom of the gauge. It is a nice gauge to have it works fine for me.SCOTT S : Yes, this pressure gage has a "twist" valve to bleed the air out before releasing the unit. The twist/turn valve is located just under the brass nut that you see in the picture.JEFFREY L : No push button bleeder it has a turn valve between the gauge and the mount. This is used to release the pressure after turning the tank off so the gauge can be removed or it can be locked open to drain a tank.MARC K : I purchased this exact item last year. Great value. Very high quality. It is not a push button but rather a collar that you turn less than a quarter turn to bleed off any pressure. It works great for me. You do not have to crank it down real hard for it to seal and it is easy to open up when you need to bleed it. I would recommend this purchase for anyone looking to add a tank checker to their arsenal of dive toys.TERRY W : No mine has a turn nob to release the pressure. However I got mine 4 years ago...Joseph R : you screw the round knob in and out below the yoke to release the pressureDAVID B : No push button but it has a turn valve to use to bleed the pressure off once u check ur pressure.IT is a handy tool to have.KEN B : No. It has a twist bleeder valve.ALLAN L : Yes, the pressure checker have push bottonMILTON M : The one I purchased did, although it isn't obvious from the picture provided.DAN S : Yes it does and works well

DEAD ON ACCURATE!!!

TEST RESULTS ARE IN ! Ok divers here's my test results. I could go on a half a page. Just rec'd my brand new Blue Reef pressure checker on Mar 19th 2024. Hooked it up to my alum 80, it said 2200 PSI. Got the reg kit out w/ my PRO plus 4 PDC w/ big digital numbers it read 2200 PSI ! Have done at least 10 pressure checks over the last 2 nights from 2200 -1000 PSI, draining the tank down a bit each time. I'm IMPRESSED AND I'M HARD TO IMPRESS ! Dead on ACCURATE !!!! My new one does have a black hood protector over the gauge. NO push button relief value! Its a righty tighty, lefty loosey thumb screw. Turn righty tight for testing. Cut tank value off, and turn lefty to release a quiet air release. There's NO pop. YES it does have and air bubble in the oil filled gauge. I believe it has a 12 month warranty. Make sure you order a dust cap also for the unit, doesn't come w/ one! This thing might blow up tomorrow, but so far, so good!! Marcus in Lexington NC.

This blew up on me

The first warning sign was when I opened the box and the gauge was reading 700 pounds with nothing attached. I ignored this. I hooked it up to a full tank and slowly opened the valve. The gauge blew off, flying across the room and sending mineral oil from the gauge everywhere and scaring the crap out of me in the process. Upon closer inspection, it was the threaded part of the gauge that failed. Do not buy this.

A handy tool for checking the pressure in my tanks

This pressure testing gauge is a big help for me testing my tanks. It works great and is easy to handle. There is an air bubble in the gauge but it does not affect the performance . I would recommend it to anybody who doesn't want to use their regulator to check the pressure in their tanks.

readings WAY off!!!

i have been buying things from leisure pro for 12 years and this is the only item i ever had issues with. i bought two, the both had the same problems, both reading about 3-400 pounds below actual, but not always the same divergence. These do NOT come with a rubber protective cover over the gauge itself, something i never saw before.

Saved the day!

I have four tanks. Three 80 cfm and one steel 72 cfm. I started out the door with the steel 72. Decided to check the air before loading in the boat. The Tank Pressure Gage saved the day. The tank was empty.

Pressure Checker

Since I am an air hog I use this tester so that I can tell which tank has the highest pressure. It reads very closely to what my dive shop reported loading the tank up to. Simple to use, I like that. And accurate.

Works well. Well built

Well built and handy to have around. Easy way for me to check tank fills as I have a hoseless, air-integrated computer as the only way to check pressure. Which, is more work than necessary just to check fill level.
