Questions & Answers

LINDA D : I would like to use this to secure the Lefeet S1 Pro scooter to my BC.  Would the coil help prevent the line from getting caught in  the propeller?darrick c : Hello Linda, the blades have a protective shroud around it so this should not get caught in the propeller.
Shopper : what is the coil make of?Steve S : The coil is plastic.DOUGLAS R : WELL, i am not sure what it is made of, but it works great !!!NIGEL L : The coil is made from plastic- there is no metal or fabric in the coil proper. It does not kink, returns to its original shape after being extended, and seems very durable. I have several of these, and they are now 5 years old, and still performing properly.ROLLAND F : Not really sure it seems to be a tpe of plastic coated cable. In any case I've had mine for about 5 years and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I do rinse religiously after every dive.JOHN M : the coil is a heavy duty coil that has a brass hook , a heavy duty plastic clip, and a rubber expandable coil. this is top quality and very well made that you can put almost and item on this coil and know it will hold.
Shopper : What is the strength of the coil? How much weight before it breaks, 5lbs, 20lbs, 50lbs?JAMES L : I know it will support 30 pounds of camera/strobes/arms...MYLES M : Have not broken mine, but under water it could probably support 50 lbs, the coil lanyard is perfect for larger lights ROBERT U : I've used this for lights, SPG and generally light equipment. I have used it to tether a scooter but under water its only slightly negative so not much weight was ever attached. Doubt it could hold 50lbs (e.g., full 120cf steel tank). I'd keep lighter equipment (less than 10lbs) for tethering, not carrying. It seems to be made well and i just started using it again (no more scooter) for SPG.CHUCK B : Mine has never broken so I don't know.Matthew F : I think the specs that came with it said it would support 6 lbs. I use it for my camera (Ikelite with wide angle attachment + strobe) but I've never just it dangle by the coil so I don't know how strong that part is. I will let the system dangle if the clips are connected and that part is strong/secure.
MANFRED J : how long is this item from the brass clip to the silver ring when it is not disconnected? Thanks for the help!BLAKE B : 10 inches; workis great with the big pelican light.CHRISTOPHER P : About 10 inches.STEVE W : It will stretch out to about 3 feet. It works great every time!
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?DARRYL D : Needed for wingMARK H : In need this lanyard for my camera. All of the ones that are sold in Amazon have a clip that is difficult to unclip from your BCD. I wanted bolt snap.Richard P : For use with my Micro 3 camera when divingRAMON N : When shore diving lake Michigan in drysuit. If there are waves I need to clip camera while putting on and taking off fins.Leonard B : Brass clipRICK C : It looks light and easy to use.DULCIE L : Needed something to attach my camera to BCD.SCOTT C : for cameraJENNA A : Exactly what I'm looking for and it's multipurpose! I'm going to use it for snow gear and scuba gear! ThanksKATHLEEN M : My brother has one and recommended it to attach camera to BCDKIRKSAK P : Wanted a strong secure clip to attach camera to BCD. Have one now that has a plastic clip, want to replace with this sturdy brass one.JAKE H : It will do the job and it was on salePETE M : Great attachment point for a small UW Camera. Hands Free until you need it.LAUREN C : Used similar in the pastKRISTOPHER H : this is for my SPG.PHILIP O : valuePeter C : My dive torch has a simple coil spring but it just dangles while swimming so this is to make it more streamline and accessible on my BCNICK B : Great for attaching my light to my bcdHAROLD J : To hang my UW camera housing on it. If I want to be hands free.MAX K : My intent is to attach a metal end to this and use it as a tank banger to get fellow divers' attention.LAWRENCE D E : To hang gear on my BCDDONALD B : Was introduced to this product by another diver and liked the product.DENNIS D : Needed something to secure camera. Looks like good quality, good price.MARILYN H : This item was on Black Friday saleJOHN B : I've a big dive light and chose this due to price and reviews of divers using this to tether their cameras to themselves.BILL T : need cord for my light. I have a similar on for my camera.Steven S : Great way to carry a cameraSALVADOR Q : practicalRICHARD K : brass clipJanet B : Using to keep from losing camera when divingEDAN K : I use these extender for securing my underwater cameraMichael L : It fits my needs perfectly. I wanted a secure lanyard to hold onto my Gopro.CHRISTINE W : Handy piece of equipment to secure camera when not using.ROBERT R : Price and availability.Steven O : I bought this based on someone's review on Scuba Board. I have some 'standard' retractors and they work great for items you use for a brief time, for example a compass. However, if you are planning to hold something out extended for a good while, it gets tiring. This being a lanyard, works differently. When you unclip it you can use your flashlight or camera for as long as you like without having it pull back against your arm.WALTER B : Need for instructor training.ERIC J : THESE WORK GREAT WITH UK FLASHLIGHTS. CAN USE STRICTLY BY FEEL. VERY USER FRIENDLY UNDERWATER, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.DAVID B : The reviews were very good and I want to make sure I have the right accessories to keep my purchases safe and secure on my dives.Antonio A : It is nice to have every thing in place and handy.MARCIE G : I needed something to hold my abalone gauge and blade to keep my hand free when I was diving in Sonoma in August. This lanyard should work great with clipping my fins to my weight belt or my BCD when I struggle out of the surf on the Sonoma, Mendocino coast.KATIE S : I actually returned this - it's massive. HUGE!!!ROBERT K : To keept the camera attached to meCHUCK C : Use with underwater lights.SAL D : Great lanyards, have them on all of our camera housings for past three years over 350 dives with no failures or issues.JON B : hang camera on bcROBERT L : Sounded good. It wasnt. Far too long when coupled.MICHELLE I : Needed a secure way to keep my camera attached to me underwater and I didnlt have time to make my own rope laynard.BLAKE B : too hook my dive lite up. and sometimes to hook on to a bad dive buddy that always gets lost.SHAWN L : camera security underwater and during entry and exit from the water.JONATHAN R : I use this for my underwater camera and it works great.KEN B : I love these things... I buy them all the time andf use them in my businessRON B : This is my second clip. It does a good job but the clip breaks over time. They last around 5 years. Maybe I could replace the clip but for $12 not a big deal.EILEEN J : Use it for my console. The coil is nice because even uncliped it doesn't let the console totally drag behind.TOM B : great price and use to connect computer to BCD.CHRIS L : Great spring clip with brass ring so highly corrosion resistant. Good stuff for hanging lights, instructor slates, etc.STEPHEN R : this lanyard is just what I need for my dive light.KAREN H : To connect my underwater camera to my BCD and be able to use the quick release if I need to extend my arms for a picture and not worry about the camera floating awayRONALD F : A must have for a camera. It only takes once to forget to attach your camera in Cozumel - the current carried mine away, never to be seen again!RICHARD N : My Sealife DC1200 is an investment I'd rather keep a hold of without always having to utilzie my hands.........OSCAR L : It makes comfortable and easy to load heavy and expensive accessories

Coil Lanyard

Holds my SPG perfectly. I love the clip to be able to disengage it to be able to get my SPG closer to my mask in Lo-visibility water.

Camera tether

Most recent purchases were gifts. I use one to attached to my camera. Make sure to use the split ring versus the cord. I have had the coed wear out and break, luckily had the split ring also attached. Great product otherwise.

This is awesome. Hooked my go pro to it and would've probably lost it a couple times without it

Safe and secure

Great Lanyard. I have tried so many of these for the last 30 yrs and this one is a keeper. Connections were exactly what I needed, and the brass clip should outlive me. Way better than the cheap plastic versions.

Great lanyard

Shipping arrived promptly from leisure pro. Looks just like photo in advertisement. Seems well made and sturdy. I have used it on two dives to secure my GoPro to BC. Very happy with lanyard. I purchased 2. 1 each for me and my daughter. Will probably get a couple more for cameras/flashlights. Good price too.

The unit failed

Where the coiled end is glue into the clip, it has failed on me. So if it is untethered, you can lose whatever is attached.

It’s a Lanyard!

Looks to be good quality, but haven’t had an opportunity to use it in the water. It looks exactly as pictured.

Get some

Rugged unit and versatile. Used it immediately on drift diving in Cozumel keeping my GoPro from staying on an extended Caribbean holiday. I'd buy again for sure.

great lanyard, keeps my camera secure to my gear. This is an insurance policy when diving on a wall with 300-400 feet under you.

Exactly what I needed

I got this to be able to attach my large camera housing to my BCD. This worked perfectly. My original plan was just to have it in case I ever dropped the camera in deep water, but I found it extremely helpful when doing shore dives since I could just let the camera hang there. The brass clip is very easy to use and is far better than the plastic clips out there. I wish I had gotten this years ago!

Save that Camera !!!

I bought this lanyard after my camera setup took a unscheduled plunge to the bottom when I thought it was hooked to my wrist. Luckily, the boat was over the reef and I was able to recover my gear. If we would have been over the deep, good by 2K in camera gear. The lanyard is well made and works great. I secured it to my BCD with the metal (not plastic) clasp which is very secure. When unclipped, it extended out nice and did not imped my use of the camera tray in any way. Very nice product.

durable/sturdy and easy to use

Took this on a hanful of dives so far to clip to my camera tray. The cable coil is strong enough that the tray doesn't drop and straighten the cable out, it retains some tension to keep close, while simultaneoulsy not being restrictive when trying to reach out for a photo. The parts all seem durable enough to last a long time.

perfect for diving

I use this to attach my camera rig to my BCD. (I actually use two of them so the rig hangs straight.) We also use this to attach our GoPro or our dive lights on night dives. Very secure and does the job that you want - keep the object close when you are not using it and then allow unrestricted use of the object while still providing the assurance that if you drop it, it remains attached to you.

Works great.

This is a good cord. A dive guide in Egypt told me you should never have "plastic" clips on lanyards and I took his advice. I worry about the line fastener on the other end but it's probably OK. God Bless All.

Would not dive without these

When diving with an expensive underwater camera setup and not enough hands to do all that you have to do to be safe, these are the only solution. Two of them. One on each side of the camera housing and attached to a D ring on your BCD will make all the difference. Clipped short to bypass the elastic coil on the descents and ascents. Unclipped to have the best of camera latitude. I have not seen any better way to take the best care of your underwater camera gear.

Great lanyard, highly recommend!

Used this lanyard mainly to attach my GoPro on. Throughout my 4 test dives I felt confident it would stay secured. In two dives I even had it dangling unclipped through a kelp forest. The length was quite perfect for a full arms reach as well. I think I will be looking into purchasing a second for for a flash light.

Keeps the heavier stuff secure

I have a few of these lanyards and they are excellent for camera, heavy light and the like. They are pretty durable with a brass clip. They don't seem to wear out and friends don't return them when you lend them (a sign of a quality product... and questionable friends!).

Exactly what I was looking for.

Used this on my Backscatter double handle tray and gopro setup. Like the metal clip to the BED and plastic clips to keep the camera close getting on and off the boat.

Excellent

Lanyard is strong and useful for attaching and clipping a camera or light to your bc. I just used it on 6 dives for my gopro camera and light to a tray, and it worked well. I like this style of snap the best , as it is reliably simpie to unsnap by feel

Keep your camera secure

I recommend 2 of these. Put one on your camera and one on your tray, and attach one to the left and one to the right D-ring. Easy! If you must let go of the camera for some reason, it will stay secured to you.

I like the brass clip as compared to the plastic one. I had a plastic clip break on a ladder in rough seas.

Heavy duty goodness

By John C.

Was bigger than I expected, but I can't think of a piece of equipment I wouldn't trust it with. Bonus points for the brass quick release (no suicide clip here). It's a bit long even before you unclip it, but allows for great flexibility for flashlights and cameras while never having to detach. I use cross sections of bicycle inner tubes to keep my light stowed nice and tight on my shoulder strap until needed, then it's just a pull away.

Great lanyard

By John D.

These lanyards are great for attaching lights, cameras, etc. to your BCD.

We always need to attach more stuff to our equipment to free up our hands when we need them. Lanyards for lights, cameras, gauges, game bags, or maybe even a fish stringer when spear fishing. Having a few spare clips in your gear bag is a must for the serious diver. It's a snap! This coiled lanyard expands to 36". (91.4cm) Simply unhook the quick-release latch with a squeeze of the fingers and the coil is released, offering up to 36" (91.4cm) of extension during use.

Lanyard has corrosion resistant marine grade brass spring loaded gate 360-degree swivel clip attachment on one end and fastens to a secure position in seconds with lanyard or stainless-steel split ring on the other end. Coil lanyard is ideal for use with gauges & underwater photographic equipment. This coiled lanyard makes a great save-a-dive-kit item.
