The shears work great. The fit in my BCD pocket no problem. I would recommend these to a friend.

this appears to be good quality and priced right I haven't been using long so I can't comment on how it will hold up over time.

all diving shears eventually wear out. its good to get cheap shears that stow really easily. I can stow these shears on my shoulder straps on my bcd belt or weight belt or whatever. no need to use anything else at all to keep this on my gear. no bungie no pocket just buy this and attach to bcd somewhere with its belt slide through in back. or use the plastic d ring but you wont even need that.

I have a pair of these I purchased a couple of years ago. They've been on a couple of dozen dives and still holding up just fine. They're sharp, sturdy, light and don't take up much space in your dive kit. You'll want to make sure to rinse them thoroughly after the dive. There are some locations where a knife is not permitted but scissors are okay. Do you need them? Probably not but I like being prepared.

Good share, bad share holder. Lost my shares three times, recovered two times. On the third loss did not recover. There are better options available.

Shears are great after 50 dives I did notice some tiny bit of rust where the plastic meets the stainless steel. I do not like the holster. It is the worst part of the set. I do not have the scissors any longer because when I did a boat entry into the ocean the shears came out if the holster and were lost. This is not the first time the shears came out of the holster. I was lucky two other times and recovered them.

I have them behind the weight pockets, never rinse or dry them separately. Fresh and Salt water diving - only a tiny but of rust where the handles are, after months of sitting in a (most likely always?) damp spot. Before I had "stainless" trauma shears from a big online retailer with an A, they were stainless, except for the rivet - junk. These here show no rust at the rivet.

Unfortunately I lost these after my first dive, but that was my fault. I did reorder. I like that they come in a holder.

Great deal gor the money. As with all these shears though, the rivet is not stainless

It seems these cutters alll come from the same factory or patent. However they are inexpensive and do a good job. Will continue to buy.

I bought these two years back to use in places where dive knives were frowned upon. I’ve carried them on dives on probably 4-5 vacations over that span. These shears have rusted on me quickly each time unless I have been diligent in getting them soaked in fresh water, and if I’ve missed a day and left them in the BCD, rust. On a recent trip to Roatan I pulled them out to soak post-dive and one of the blades fell off. Didn’t snap off, just fell off. The shears had been in the carrier and closed the entire time. So as a backup/alternate to a dive knife, I’d have hated to need these at depth and pull them out, only to have the blade fall off... Your experience may vary but I’m not impressed with the shears, even at the meager price point. At least I’ve still got the pouch/carrier for when I buy a better set.

Once I received the product I attached to my BC waist strap. I felt it was a little to loose and big the sheath itself. I dive twice with the scissors and sheath. The first one I noticed it was not in the way of having it attached. Second dive it fell out of sheath and lost the scissors. I noticed them missing back on the boat. I do know my lack of connecting a hook to the scissors and attaching them to the BC should have been a good idea. So know I need to buy a new pair. :(

I picked up 2 of these to replace my line cutter that rusted if you breathed on it. I read reviews about these rusting so I put a drop or 2 of oil in between the blades onto the bolt each dive day and also drop them into a bowl of white vinegar for 10 minutes or so at the end of the day. 10 fresh water dives later no rust. As far as functionality they work as expected. I like the case though I wish it was made of sturdier material, because of that I wouldn't attach anything on the its plastic D ring. But for the price hey and as an extra bonus its easy to open with 5mm gloves. I haven't had issues with the shears falling out and really can't see how they would unless your wresting an octopus or flinging your gear onto the boat from space. I use the second shears case to hold my knife

Seems strange to review a pair of scissors but here is what I think. They are cheap, built well and operate well. They come with a sheath that can be hooked to a clip on your BC but I wouldnt trust that as it appears the scissors could fall out in the right circumstances. Rinse and dry them after every dive or they will rust.

The shears themselves are of good quality, the holster seems it needs a strap to go through the shears to hold them in place better. But for the price, this is a great product.

I purchased this as a backup after watching my dive knife fall to the bottom after taking my camera out of my BCD. (I did get my knife back) My major concern is the velcro holding the case shut, I don't think it engages emough to be secure if bumped up against something. I'm not planning on retuning this as it's a backup device and not my primary. If this were my primary - I would return it.

I haven't needed to use it yet so I'll speak to it's size and ease of placement. It's not too big and not too small. The size is such that it neither pokes me nor gets in the way of anything. The "case" it sits in has a loop on the back so it was easy to mount on the left shoulder strap of my BCD, making it readily available.

Don't leave home without a cutting tool. Diving in a location that frowns on knives, Get a pair of these shears. Be safe.

It's not a Rolls Royce, but it's much cheaper $$. Decent quality for emergency scissors.

More practical than a knife
By K
I bought a pair of these this summer because I was on a budget. I could have spent $100 on a knife, which looks a lot cooler, but my practical side won. I really like them and use them for just about every job I'd use normal scissors on. The blades are serrated in a way so they haven't started to dull yet. I've dove with them and after I'm done I just dry them off and apply a little oil and so far they haven't rusted. Thankfully, I've never had to use these in a rescue setting, but I know I...

I would highly recomended this for every
By barkerrick706
I bought this as a stocking stuffer for Christmas, have been using it for everything around the house. I also lay carpet and it has out preformed other shears. Very sharp, comfortable and I love the case. Its a do-all tool for everything. I would recomend this to anyone
The Blue Reef Shears Cutter with Holster have 400-series stainless-steel snips with plastic coated finger grips. The shears will easily cut through line, net, rope, kelp, and thin steel cable. This product works well in emergency situations where a knife might not. Shears come complete with a durable sheath holster with D-ring that mounts to BC, weight belt or leg.
