Shopper : What size is it when the two pages are open is it then 10 x 12-1/2 when open?STEPHEN W : No, its about 10 x 6 1/4GEOFFREY R : Overall, it is 10 3/4" when opened fully. You get about 10" of writeable space as the pencil holder is about 3/4".WESLEY K : When it is open the size is 10 x 6-1/4. But the turnable page locks shut on either side of the main page. So, you do not have to keep it open. This give you four surfaces to write on. TIM W : It's 6 3/4" high x 10 " when opened, you have four area's to write on 6x5 or two 6x10 front &backWILLIAM Y : When open tablet is 10inch wide by 7 high. The included pencil is excellent, also the coiled retainer is nice. I bought 6 tablets so far, this is one of the top two I own. I prefer the one that allows you to hook up to a retractor....this one is fixed. If my eyes were better I would not need to hold so far away from my face, otherwise excellent slate.

It doesn't appear as though you can add any pages. Although the quality seems good on this item, I don't use it very much because it does not fit in my bcd pocket.JOHN H : The slate comes with a total of four writing surfaces. Basically, its two pieces of plastic hinged in the middle. It doesn't allow you to add any additional writing surfaces. My only cons with it are you need slate cleaner to erase what ever you wrote on it (toothpaste works also) and its size. I very seldom use it let alone have a need for all four surfaces. It is hard plastic so you cant add pages but the mr clean magic erasers work under water but ive never had to clean the slate underwater there is lots of spaceWESLEY K : There are four surfaces to write on. No, you cannot add pages. There is plenty of area for notes and drawings. GREAT SLATE

how do you keep pressure, time on a multi dive use this!

When diving I like to keep my pressure and dive times for my log book but I always forgot until i bought this knee board. keep my dives inside and use the outside for chats while under water.

Convenient size, several surfaces, pencil that works

I like it because it's small enough to fit in my dry suit pocket, it has multiple surfaces and the pencil really works. Some other slates come with a regular pencil and they don't write very well in the water - light and hard to read. This has a big stick of graphite and it writes well. Multiple surfaces are nice because I tend to write sloppy underwater so I can flip to a fresh page each time I need it so I'm sure my buddy is reading the current message.

Because of he extra recording space on this slate, it is great for keeping track of what skills students have completed toward certification

This is the last slate I'll need!

I've bought 4 other slates with every gimmick included and this is the last I'll ever need. Love that you can use one of the flaps as a cover if you want to keep the notes on the inside safe. The surface and big graphite pencil are very smooth. We used it for a wreck certification that required a lot of sketching and my husband logged 18 dives with details on his over Christmas so he could add to his log book later. A Mr. Clean Sponge is a quick and easy way to clean it up and start fresh.
