For price your not risking much but I was dissapointed. I thought one end would be closed. All it is is a hollow tube. So you place it on the tip and it protects nothing. It can slide down and expose the tip again very easily.

I have a JBL Woody Sawed Off Mag. This thing is worthless for a tip protector. What did work was the simple vinyl hose protector.

I thought this would be used on the end of my spear tip, but it was an open tube and just slide right down my spear tip.

The description of this product should be more clear about its appropriate use and its size. The inside diameter of this item is about 13mm (about 1/2"). It works very well for a typical pole spear "paralyzer tip" because it will hold the three tines together and their spring action will keep the cover in place very nicely. This cover will NOT work on a typical spear gun shaft (unless it is 1/2" thick!). Use a chunk of band rubber for the tips of your spear shafts.

I really liked the product. Bright color is good safety feature when on gun, and helps me find cap when off gun. Has molded in drain slots which is good. It fits my JBL spearpoint great, doesn't look like it would fit thinner shaft single flopper points. Seems plenty durable for my needs and can't beat the price. If worried about point going thru end, just insert a bit of cork or plastic inside.

Saved my gear bag. Until I bought this I ripped a hole in my gear bag twice! A must have for your shafts.

I purchased this tip protector simultaneously with an AB Biller gun. It is too big for even a standard tip. It may work on an Australian tip, but otherwise, you're going to do what I did and throw it away.
