As soon as I attached my computer/air gauge to this retractor it just unwinds about 2 feet, making it all but worthless. It does ok once you are in the water, but out of the water it cannot hold up my small computer. It's too bad too, because the carabiner feels very heavy duty.

Use to hold two gauge console. Doesn't sag down under weight. Small, but mighty enough. Carabiner easy release. Other brands too big and bulky for me, and other small ones didn't hold the console up.

I bought two of them, one for myself, another for my wife. Mine broke down on our first scuba trip, so the construction cannot be as good as it looks. The string had snapped without me noticing taking my nudi pointer along with it. It really felt like it should last for a long time but it didn't.

When I purchased this item, there was a picture of a yellow one, with no options for color. I got a blue one, not yellow.

The first time I fully extended it, it didnt retract. I took it apart and discovered it was very cheaply made with plastic parts and a flimzy coil spring that had broken in three places. I managed to fix it and put it back together. If you are looking into a retractor, I recommend spending a little more for a quality retractor.

I originally purchased this to hold my spg, but it is not high force enough. I thought ok, I will use it for my UK sl4 light, but it would would not stay retracted. Ultimately, it is in my dive gear bag just in case I need to attach something small to my BC.

Carabiner: an oblong metal ring with a spring clip or locking devise; used in mountaineering to attach a rope to a piton or to connect two ropes. Strong and dependable for climbing it will also work well for diving. We always need to attach more stuff to our equipment to free up our hands when we need them. Lanyards for lights, cameras, gauges, game bags, or maybe even a fish stringer when spear fishing. Having a few spare attachment devises in your gear bag is a must for the serious diver.
With the Mini Retractor with Stainless Steel Carabiner you can keep your accessories safe and secure with stainless-steel cable. The mini retractor extends up to 25" (63.5cm) with 24 oz. (680.4 g) retraction force, great for dive lights or cameras. This auto-recoil device allows for quick and easy access to equipment secured to BCD or weight belt.
Retractor is equipped with a corrosion resistant stainless-steel carabiner clip with split ring for attachment of accessories or console. Retractor protects equipment and damage to the environment by keeping attached item close to the vest. Retractor makes a great save-a-dive-kit item.
