The slate was not easy to write on, and the pencil side proved to be useless. On a positive note, it did outperform someone else's electronic underwater slate that failed during his first dive. While it's better than other options we've used before, it's far from impressive. Additionally, the price seems too high for what essentially feels like a child's toy marketed as something more substantial.

I wasn't prepared for how large this unit is. Not only is it large in height and width, it's easily an inch deep. Much too large in my opinion to easily carry. I returned mine.

Works great, and very cool. Practical design. Well worth the investment!

I have owned two of these for about 15 years. After considerable usage, I have finally nearly worn out one of them, which I am now replacing. I think because of being stored in the wrong place. My only regret is that it only comes in black or yellow. My wife likes the blue one. She and I use them to "talk" underwater when necessary. It virtually eliminates miscommunication while below. The slate side is great for reminders and other "permanent" messages. This is a MUST for DMs.

Great size fits my bc's pocket, having the ability to erase and rewrite on the tablet page and also be able to write a permanent note on the slate side

it was too cumbersome to manage underwater. Lots of plastic and not a lot of writing space.

This product is a must for dive masters. It's easy to read and you can write notes that stay on the pad on the opposite side. Nice tool and clips on to BCD out of the way. Dive partners like it as well.

Be gentle when removing the pencil/stylus from it's slot as the holder is somewhat fragile

This is a nice size and fits nicely in my BC pocket. I also like the fact that it is both a traditional and magnetic slate.

This is a nice little slate and it is the perfect size to fit in my bcd pocket. Other reviewers complained about the pencil clip breaking right away but I've had it for a while and had no problem but I'm not rough with my gear.

I was looking for a slate to use with my students, as well as when I'm diving "for fun" and thought I'd found the perfect solution... small enough to fit in your BC pocket, erases underwater - the only "bad" thing I can say is the clip for the pencil on the back of the slate broke on the 2nd dive... not sure if it was due to the pressure at depth or what the problem was... I bought one for my dive buddy, too - and he had the same problem... It's still a great product, but would be perfect if they could come up with a better way to stow the pencil...

Able to communicate with dive buddy. I can make comments on things we're seeing and then on the reverse side I'm able to right notes that I want to keep until after we're done diving for the day.

Great size/weight/functionality. I question the durability of the writing instrument connection.

I've used it now on about 5 dives and it works great. I can't comment on how it lasts, but I like it. It's small enough to fit in my BC pocket. I haven't used the traditional slate side yet, just the magnet side. It's big enough to get an abbreviated sentance on it.

It is compact, can easily fit into most BC pockets, or hang very nicely off a BC clip. Best of both - pencil or magnetic writer. I teach and its is great communication tool. I purchased three. One for me, and one for each of my kids (age 10 and 12 yrs) They love it too !!

Great little slate that fits into a pocket and you can write a brief message to your buddy then stow away quickly.

This is the slate being used a lot for instruction, and doing exactly what a slate is for - communicating! Fits well in BC pocket, probably better than full-size Quest slate. coiled lanyard great. dual writing surfaces great.

This works great with certification classes - big enough to give instructions and quick to erase, and small enough to fit in BC pocket, better than large Quest slate. Like the dual writing surfaces, and the coiled lanyard clip.

Good item for underwater communication. Although, wished the item was less bulky.
