These are great octo holders. I've been using one for the past 80 dives or so and it keeps the regulator secure and I've never had it free flow or flow at all when in the holder which is the primary reason I got this type. The other ball looking kind I had previously did still free flow occasionally but this one does not. It's secure but if you pull on it intentionally it's not difficult to get the regulator out so it's perfect in that regard. The only drawback is it's a bit tight getting the reg mouthpiece in it but usually I'll stick the reg in my mouth before inserting it into the holder and that makes a huge difference. It has also started forming to my regs mouthpiece over time and gotten easier to insert but I might try to leave it on my reg when not diving and see if that makes it even easier.

This did come with a plastic clip on it in addition to the metal ring to clip it onto the BCD, but my octopus regulator mouth piece didn't fit into it, so it's useless for me. It might fit a snorkel, but it doesn't seem to be sized for standard dive equipment.

This is the holder to get if you don't want to deal with a free flowing second. It covers the mouthpiece and prevents debris along with any possibility of free flow. Yeah, you can still press the purge and air comes out. The one issue is...does the mouthpiece on your octopus reg fit this holder? I have a standard Scubapro mouthpiece on my octopus reg and it fits perfectly. That said, it's a very secure fit, so I do need to wet the mouthpiece to make it easier to get it in there. It still pulls out easy enough. I've never had one come lose on a dive...and I've done more than 400 dives with it. Forgot to bring it on my last visit to Florida...and couldn't find one at the LDS's in the area. Had to use something like a snorkel holder with a square end for the mouthpiece. Had to fuss with occasional free flows...wish I had this for my travel BC...and now I do.

After reading all these reviews I was afraid I would have to make holes in it, etc. I attached it to my chest strap, put my Air2 into it and forgot it. It just works. I tried it in salt water, fresh water, on shallow dives around 2m and on deep dives up to 40m. Easy to use, the mouthpiece perfectly fits into it (also with thick gloves in 6C cold water), it holds the mouthpiece well.

This product is well made and easy to use. Comes with ring as you see in the picture. Straight forward product and it fits snug without having to fight to get it on to form to mouthpiece.

It takes a bit of getting used to putting it on the regulator, but well worth the effort. Keeps it neatly out of the way, but easy to reach if needed. I bought them for the whole family.

Good, bright, basic octo holder. Keeps mouthpiece free of debris and holds it snug and won't let go until you need it. Don't use an octo much on my rig, but when I do, this is the holder I use.

I use it with my Aqua Lung Micron octo. Works as it should, get the mouth piece wet and it will slide in with sufficient force to hold, but comes out when needed with a slight tug. It does come with a clip that seems to work well. I purchased the 'yellow'. it is kind of 'neon' green-yellow, like the safety color, but am happy with purchase so far.

I like that this keeper fits over the mouthpiece to keep debris out.

Like others have said, this accessory helps with keeping the octo close and clean. It will not drag and it saves potentially damaging reefs. The two downsides I've found are first, it is very difficult to get the octo in. It does help if you wet the mouthpiece and holder first, then get it on. Second, if your hose gets caught or you pull it a little, it comes out fairly easily. Other than that, this is a great little accessory.

One the best accessories that a I own. It's a real simple piece that you must own. If you don't want to drag your octopus all around the sand and reef and want to look high and tight, you need this. It's a little hard to get the octopus in, it's a real tight squeeze but, once it's on it won't come out by accident.

I think I've gotten this on correctly once. Every other time I can barely fit the mouth piece (Aqualung Titan Octo) in the holder. Had to resort to a hose clip on the last dive, as I couldn't get the mouth piece in properly. I'm replacing this with the Dive-Rite holder and hoping it works better.

It's a tight squeeze for my octopus (Tusa Platina II Octopus), but the trick is to wet the inside of the holder a bit. After that, the octopus mouthpiece gets in easily. I've never had the octopus coming out by accident. Nice little accessory. It does what it should do.

This is a nice piece of gear. It keeps all the junk from getting into the mouthpieceand holds the octopus securely in position until it needs to get yanked out. It's a little tough to put on dry, but get it wet and it slides right on.

Brightly colored for easy identification in an emergency, this Octopus Holder with 1" (2.5cm) Stainless Steel Split Ring attachment will retain your alternate air source (octopus' regulator) were you attach it to your equipment until you need it. Won't allow octopus to drag along the bottom collecting sand or destroying the reef, Octopus holder also helps prevent free-flow from accruing when entering the water or when encountering a current. Octopus holder can protect your regulator mouthpiece when you stow your equipment after diving. Holder is available in multiple colors.
