Questions & Answers

Charles A : Are any attachments needed to test directly from the nitrox tank?SAM M : The adapter from the device is already on the o2 analyzer but you can buy a hose adapter for a more secure fitJess C : It has several end caps that come with it. You should be fine.Peter N : No, it comes with a "ball" sensor that you can press directly to the tank outlet for testing.
Shopper : Will this unit remain on continuously or does it shut off automatically?JOONGYU K : It doesn't shut off automatically.MICHAEL S : It shuts off automatically after 10 minutes or so...RON S : It shuts off automatically after not being used for a period of time. I do not know how long until it shuts off.CARLA B : It automatically shuts off. Nice unit
MICHAEL S : What is the life expectancy of the Oxygen sensor and which sensor does it use? What is cost and availability of the sensor?KEVIN F : Life expectancy is based on hours of use, but the sensor is warrantied for 24 months. We do not currently sell the replacement sensor.
Shopper : Where can I get the bc adapter for this product?JACK S : From the manufacturer, Maxtec. I'm not allowed to put the link here so.... Go to their website and click on products and then click on oxygen analyzers. Under that heading you'll see the various purposes for which they produce the devices, one of those is scuba, click on that and finally click on the device you're looking to buy and the accessories page will appear and the bc adapter is on that page. Or if that's too complicated, just look up the company and call them, RP11P28 is the part number.JASON H : You dont need a bc adapter for this product.
Shopper : I have read previous reviews for this device & heard the batteries are not replaceable, therefore the device is a $300.00 piece of trash once batteries die. Is this true or can the batteries be replaced?JOONGYU K : This is a product that can replace the battery. Recommended for low-frequency users.MICHAEL S : two AA batteries, user replaceable....had mine 3 years without need to replace.JOONGYU K : Could be Changed... The battery icon on the bottom of the display will begin to flash. This icon will continue to flash until the batteries are changed. The unit will continue to function normally for approx. 200 hours.JACK S : Batteries are user replaceable, 2 AA size either Alkaline or Lithium (lasts longer). Why don't you google the user manual -- just search Maxtec Max02 oxygen analyzer user manual. I like this analyzer a lot. I used another kind before and like this much better. I use the BC adapter and much prefer doing that over holding the device to the tank valve.JASON H : They can be replaced, but i have had mime for 4 years now and habe not needed to replace them.

Excellent and easy to use

This analyzer is extremely easy to use with the auto calibration feature. When my sensor went out for the 2nd time on my O2E, I decided to try a different analyzer and am very glad that I did.
