Questions & Answers

WILSON J : Do y’all offer the sensor cap for this tester?Mario C : yes we do. link belowJOSEPH S : Mine did not come with a cap. I used a cap from an older non-working unit. It seems to keep the O2 sensor alive longer.
C L : Does it come with the carrying case?CLINT C : No. Bought a small pelican case to protect it.TIMOTHY B : Mine did not.ROBERT M : No it does not.Ivan B : Nope
STEVEN J : Does anyone know what the shelf life of extra 02 sensor is if I choose to buy one?DAVID D : You should get many years of great use out of the O2 sensor. Take good care of it and it will last a long time. Keep in mind that it is an electronic device, so like any electronic device something can always break. If you are going to be doing any nitrox diving you definitely need to buy one of these. Anyone can make mistakes, so never trust your life in the hands of someone who may have mismarked the O2 content in a tank. Get your own analyzer and double check what is in the tank before you breathe off of it.Tim P : I would wait until you need it. They last for 4-5 years and there is a limited shelf life.WILLIAM L H : If not open it should last a very long time i would call the manufacturerJEAN MARC H : from another website. Which is think is accurate. 2 years then precision is off. Still working but not accurate. So what is the shelf life of a new, unopened sensor? The manufacturers specify the shelf life for most types of sensors at 12 or 24 months from date of manufacture, and that's reasonable for sensors intended for use in analyzers. However, I suggest you may want to use a fresher sensor in rebreather applications. For this reason I do NOT recommend rebreather divers keep a 'backup' sensor in their spares kit. Rotating a sensor from the spares kit into the rebreather might seem cost effective, but it's not best practice. There are a variety of reasons, but ultimately rattling around in the spares kit is hard on sensors and they often come out of the bag not working well anyway. If you suddenly need a replacement sensor, they are generally available via overnight delivery. If you feel you must keep a spare sensor for immediate availability, such as during dive travel, then it should be discarded no later than 18 months after date of manufacture, regardless weather it was used or not.CHRISTOPHER C : I believe it is only a couple of years. I wouldn't buy a spare since they start to degrade immediately. Wait till yours starts to go and then replace. I have a CCR which needs to have 3 sensors a year replaced and I don't carry a spare.
Shopper : I want to purchase this unit but I am not going to until I know exactly what I need to connect it to and how, to my low pressure hose. Where can I find that information?THOMAS B : I do not use this product connected to a low pressure hose. It is very easy to use straight from the tank valve.MICHAEL G : I believe the side of the small ball adapter is so you can hook some tubing up to it and connect it to a BC hose for analysis, but I don't bother with all that. I just put the ball right up to the tank valve and open it slightly. The ball has a pin hole in the front to restrict flow to get an accurate reading.CHRISTOPHER C : You don't need anything to connext it. Just hold the ball end up to the tank valve and crack the valve so that a small Amount of air passes over the sensor. This unit does have a barbed fitting as sell but I have never used it. You would need tubing and an orifice to use it but nobody sells it anymore. This is a good unit and the inflator option is more of a gimmick. If you absolutely must have one, get the divenav cotoo which comes with the low pressure adapter. I have both units and they each have their own prows and cons but I would get either again.ROBERT M : You will need the flow restrictor. Connect the region to tank. Connect flow restrictor hose to barber on analyser. Connect flow restrictor to l.p. hose. That's it. Good luck.JEAN MARC H : To connect to the LP hose you need this: Analox BCD Flow Restrictor
Frank F : what comes with the Analox O2EII Nitrox Analyzer?Michael P : Everything needed to operate it. It's purchase was after same unit was used in a Cozumel dive shop getting my Nitrox certification. Only one I've ever used and I've been happy with it.Tim P : Just the analyzer, no case.MICHAEL G : Analyzer, adapter shown in the picture, and one oxygen sensor. I don't think it comes with the battery.WILLIAM L H : Nothing just the Analyzer

Great tool all EANx divers should own

I love this device! It works amazingly well and every time I've checked it against more expensive or commercial analyzers, it's been spot on - both when using the direct connection hose as well as through the tiny air hole against a cylinder valve. I definitely recommend getting the plug to extend the life of the oxygen sensor as those are obviously the "high cost of ownership" part. Very useful when travelling and/or on boats to verify your EANx mix.

Peace of mind

It... analyses. This analyzer gave me peace of mind when traveling. Remember, it is important to calibrate it based on temperature and humidity. The included chart makes that easy.

reliable, easy to use

If you dive a lot, and like to check your own mix (like PADI recommends), this is a pretty simple gadget. You can use it with or without the BC attachment. I prefer without it, actually. After calibrating for ambient humidity (pretty easy with a current local weather lookup on your phone), the readings are easy to take. The only thing easier would be to have a built-in humidity sensor, or a way to enter the relative humidity and have the internal computer calibrate.

Nice upgrade

Nice upgrade to my last analyzer. I would recommend ordering the cap at the same time. Be very careful when you put the sensor inside as the wire gets in the way.

BCD Adapter ROCKS

I love the BCD adapter. Absolutely NO unnecessary gas loss with this method of gas analysis
