Works well. The clip is really hard to get off with 5mm gloves, but I have mine on a lanyard and never need to unclip it underwater.

You'll have a hard time using this slate when wearing gloves. It's also not easy to clean/erase. They suggest using sand when diving...and probably end up with something looking like swiss cheese pretty soon

I've used this a few times and it is always a PIA. Not sure why or even if there is a better solution. The pencil does not sharpen well: material flakes and lead breaks.

Nice and handy board. Used on my dives in Monterey. Better than most others. Snappy coil is a lifesaver!

you should unsharp yr pencil before writing on it, becoz a sharp pencil give a thin stroke and you barely see it.

I used this as a dive slate as well as a white balance card for my camera. I wrote on one side and kept the other side clean replacing the larger, white balance card I carried. I removed the yellow tether since it just got in the way and the pencil stays fine without it. Erases clean with a simple pencil eraser. Mine did come with the split ring.
