I use this in conjunction with a diver down flag when snorkeling. To make this more stable, I use zip-ties and affixed it to my snorkel. Use a utility knife to cut the excess smooth so you will not cut your hands. Works well.

So, we have used these flags since 2001! These will be our third incarnation. I bought them for stocking stuffers after our flags finally broke, while on vacation in the Caribbean this year. Funny, plastic has a life span! We use these so we can keep track of each other AND to let boats know we are in the water! The only drawback would be we often have people ask us where we purchased them and we direct them to scuba.com. Hope they continue to stock them. I did buy an extra this year, just in case.

This flag is easy to pack for trips but like most reviewers state it is not stable. We found moving the black rubber tube higher up on the flag stick helped but then the flag was not as high as it was attended to be above the water surface. I should have brought duct tape like another reviewer did. With the wind and waves, the flag movement bothered me while snorkeling. BUT again it was effective enough and easy to travel with.

Used this on a trip to St. Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach, Florida. Dive Flags are required in the State Park, and this worked great!

Upon opening the package, my first thought was that the yellow rubber two-ring setup attaching the flag pole to the snorkel was not very tight. Fears were promptly confirmed when I lost the flag the first time I encountered rough seas while snorkeling off East End, Grand Cayman. Oops! I would however recommend this product if they came up with a foolproof way to secure the flag.

we snorkel for scallops in the St Joe Bay, Port St. Joe, Florida. The flags allow us to see each other better while in the water and away from our boat.
