This float and dive flag works great for static use, but is not so good for towing. If the wind is above about 15 knots and you are towing the float with the flag, it can turn upside down, and the flag may fall out of the holder. This happened to me, but was fortunate to find the flag on the bottom of the lake on the return leg. When I saw the flag on the lake floor, I thought "Hey that flag looks like the flag on my float" not fully realizing it was my flag.

Its easy to see, pretty good quality, easy to inflate. I put a weight under it to make sure it stayed up-right (although I didn't have any problem with it turning over).

Great product. Has a place in the center to put extra items like weights, anti fog, or water bottle. Durable. I've used it several times a year. I like that it has writing all around the tube. Great for beginners who may struggle with buoyancy as it will hold you if you tend to sink. Tied down one lower corner to a pole so wind does not wrap it around the upper pole.

The seam breaks easily. I used it twice and now there are several seam leaks that I can not solve. It is necessary to make stronger seams.

Good dive flash for the price. Flag could be attached a little better but is adequate. You need to fill the center pocket with a bit of water to make it more stable. Can put a GPS in the center pocket if you want to track your dive that way.

My review is .... It's ok. The quality and construction I feel is quite good, but the major issue is that if there is any wind or small waves the float capsizes. I thought by putting a 5 pound lead weight inside of the float would fix the problem, but while diving one time with my wife at 50 feet down I saw the 5 pound weight pass between us falling to the ocean floor narrowly missing my wife. I of course did not tell her, but then went out and purchased a standard stick type dive flag float.

Falls apart in the wind and does not stay upright. Tried it in Hawaii - Maui first on the Lahaina on a windy day. It was upside down for most of the dive no ticket. Then used it back in Oregon and the wind blew it apart. Our conditions can be a bit sketchy. Then put the float in the car and went back to try a locate the flag. The float exploded from the heat in the car while I was looking for the flag. came apart at the seam. Good luck if you use it might try a weight in the bottom of the float and gorilla glue to connect flag to float.

the places that I dive require that you have a marker buoy otherwise you could be getting a ticket for something that's easy to avoid.

Used this for the first time at Table Rock Lake, MO yesterday and it worked great! As another reviewer wrote, the bright yellow part saying diver below is especially nice for lake dives where not everyone may understand what the dive flag is. Easy to assemble and place, just make sure you've secured it well (we had to go swim after ours, completely our fault). Online I was concerned about the size but having used it i am fully confident in this product. I really have no complaints. If you don't buy it with a weight and line or forget them on a trip, its easy to just use extra rope and an old workout weight to keep it in place. It deflates/rolls up to almost nothing and will easily fit in a dive bag with your fins and other gear.

Okay, the purpose of the flag is to not have your head turned into fish food by somebody's prop. That being said, this is 'hands down' the most visible flag on the market. For that reason alone it's my favorite. You can store accessories in the center compartment which is nice. I had the same tipping issue in high wind as the others, so I just tied a 2lb weight to it and it's been good ever since. One tip, if you store it completely deflated between dives, you may get leaks in the seams. I now store mine partially inflated and the problem went away.

We perchased 4 of these for the dive club i help run. We use them on every beach dive, in both very optimal and bad conditions. we have lost 3 of the flags at this point and have had at least 10 float flips over the period of 4 months and like ~25 dives. im planing on replacing these ASAP. ive gotten in trouble 2 times now with FWC for diving without a flag cuz the thing gets lost. the float only works in calm water. once u get waves forget it. I have tried many types of safety floats mostly cheaper models that were a total waste of money. I have not put this into the water yet but looks stable and functional floating in a pool. If you need a safety float don't go cheaper than this one you will just waste your money.

Construction seems sturdy. Much more bang for the buck compared to similar priced items. Flag is not attached on the sides so it won't catch wind and stayed in the holders with no issue. Due to previous reviews about tipping I tied a small length of string to the bottom grommet of the flag and attached it to the float itself just in case. Attached a mesh bag and a few rocks to the bottom to weigh it down as previous reviews indicated it was easy to flip. Had no issues at all with it flipping in choppy water with some gusting and a bunch of boat traffic. Not hard to tow at all and storage compartment was large enough to carry extra weights, defog, spare rope and have plenty of room left over. Great lift and was able to hold onto it for support during surface interval.

The 1st time I used it from the boat the float flipped over and the flag fell out and sank. Need to secure the flag & pole assembly to the inflatable tube by a short cord attached to one of the lower grommet holes on the flag.

I had been looking at this at my local dive shop, but did not want to the pay price considering how simple it is. LeisurePro had this for half the price of my local dive shop. I did not hestitate to purchase it. It is exactly what we needed!

Flips over in the water a lot. Lost my flag the first day I used it. Needs some way of securing the flag.

Large enough for boaters to see, small enough to easily handle.

Awesome price point. You can place extra stuff in the middle of the donut. I suggest also filling up the pouch area with water for extra stability (I also attached a 2 lb soft weight to 3 ft cord so this thing is completely stable in choppy waters).

It appeared to be made of good construction, however once together there are no mechanical means of securing the flag poles to the sides of the bouy. Due to sea conditions during the first dive I took the dive flag out with me, the flag was unfunctional. The bouy flipped several times due to the waves and eventually the flag and poles were lost to the sea. The bouy itself also does not move smoothly in wave action. Unfortunantely the end result was I was dissatisfied with the product. I would not recommend this product, unless used in calm water I.e. springs.

Flag acts like a sail in the wind putting strain on the vinly slots the flag posts stick in. Causes premature failure. Not recommended for more than just casual occasional use.

Good item for the price but with both sides of the flag being secured it makes it into a great sail and if you dont have a good anchor will sail away and never be seen again, also in heavy waves need to put a lot of water in it to prevent it from tipping over.

Really nice float / buoy!
By Shore B.
This float is great. I used to use just a "normal" dive flag but I would have boats coming up to me to see what the flag was. (I know tell the DNR or the Coast Guard. I'm in an area of the great lakes with LOTS of recreational traffic and they have no clue what a dive flag is some times.) With this float it says diver below and has the flag. That did the trick. I have not had one boat come up to me while using it. I attached a 2lb hard dive weight to the bottom of it (it is made for ...

Easy to stow
By JIM W.
Suspend a weigh beneath the float to get better stability. I also, fill the center with water and stow a couple of extra pounds in the center in case I need them for students. I like the fact that I can collapse this and stow it in a nice little box with my other float, leaving more room for tanks, etc.
Being a safe diver is important as more and more people are taking to the water every year, and there is increased watercraft traffic in our favorite dive sites. Make sure to fly a flag when diving to alert watercraft operators that there are divers below! Flag is a traditional red & white diver-down flag. The Innovative Inflatable Flag-N-Float has a horizontal flag mount and inflatable buoy base that is easy to use. 22" (55.9cm) diameter buoy base and weight attachment strap provide excellent stability in rough water or while towing. When deflated, Flag-N-Float stores in your dive bag. Flag-N-Float sets-up quickly. Put a small dive light in the center compartment to illuminate the buoy at night. Complete with buoy base, 16" x 20" (40.6cm x 50.8cm) flag, break-down pole, towline attachment ring and weight clip strap (weight not included).
