megan r : how big is the suction cup?RICHARD G : Probably 1 - 1 1/2". But don't bother. The suction does not support the flag pole even when attached to a roto-molded plastic kayak lid. Even cutting down the staff it wouldn't hold. Nice concept but poor application.Carlos H : I think it's about 3 1/2 inches and works just fine. The only thing I did was cut the pole to two feet since it for my jet ski 😊BRAD M : Probably as big as the top/the opening of a solo cup.. If that makes sense

Suction cup does not work

The product is a total waste of time. The suction cup does not work. Tried cleaning it and wetting it down. It's like old rubber or plastic.

24”x36” flag is overbearing.

was going to use this on my paddle board, however a small 24”x36” flag was too much weight(not including any wind you’d get) for the base of the pole where it meets the suction cup. it would just bend over and slide out of the base.

Good theoretically - Bad practically!

Wanted something to stick a flag on my touring kayak. Looked good, but the suction cup isn't up to the job of holding up the pole and flag. So I cut the pole down, and duct-taped the suction cup. Hopefully, being jury-rigged will get the job done. We'll see.
