I bought this for my son who indicated he had a dive flag on his boat but it was not large enough to meet Coast Guard requirements. This dive flag was the perfect size and it saved him a big fine because the next time he went diving, the Coast Guard boarded and inspected his boat. If he had not just replaced the old flag with this one, he would have been looking at potentially a $250-$300 fine. It is too early to comment on durability, but the flag appears to be well made.

I just saw the flag again during the weekend of July 25th. It is still in great shape and the color has held up completely, despite the very intense sun in San Carlos, and about two years of constant exposure and year-round weathering.

I've been diving with the same boat crew in San Carlos, Mexico for several years and they really needed a new dive flag. Their old one was pretty well tattered after years of being in the intense sun and salt water there. I bought the flag last summer as an appreciation gift for the captain and it was a really big hit and much appreciated. I unexpectedly received a huge chunk of fresh tuna in return. The boat looks much better now too. This summer I noticed that most of the other dive boats have replaced their flags as well, not to be outdone. I hope they all bought from[...]!
