We bought 2 of these and they work great under water. We can get each others attention when needed.

Used it on a recent dive trip and it works quite well. Loud and clear--can make short toots or hold long honks.

Time will tell on working life, had problems due to seawater mineral buildup, different brand. My unit failed to get attention on first open water use..

Don't think about it. Just buy it. The other (cheaper one) doesn't last.

I had previous model of Dive Alert with “air/water” switch. It graciously died after several years of or reliable performance. Considering my previous experience with dive alert products, I purchased Dive Alert Plus v2 (DAP) without 2nd thought. New DAP has only on or off switch. Either you can use it or not. 1st test under water “quacking” noise was fine.. then came a surface test… only quacking sound again and no horn sound. Upon arrival to dive shop after diving we’ve tested DAP and it worked, from “quacking” sound it produced a loud horn sound., seemed strange but ok, at least it worked. Next couple of days I was using it only under water. Then came a day for an adventure dive… as soon as we descended , the current had changed and drifted us in an opposite direction from where we were supposed to ascend. Long story short.. boat was looking for us for a good 40 minutes with waves reaching 6-8ft, and my DAP was making only quacking sounds… after dive we'd concluded that the reason, we got successful test at dive shop was that DAP was dry !!!! and when its wet only “quacking” sounds coming out. Maybe mine is defective or not … its not an item I can recommend any more.

This goes onto your power inflater & is supposed to make a blast that can be heard a mile off. NOT SO ! just a little better than a whistle. for 60$ more.

It works as the manufacturer spec's stated. Very happy on how it looks and works. It's attached to my Zegal BC.

You can use this version above or under water. You can use this either to make a piercingly loud sound (warn others) or a moderate gurgling sound for people who are relatively close. Its the real deal. Their is a self locking mechanism that keeps it from blaring unnecessarily.

Awesome little device that definitely gets attention both above and under water when needed. Very pleased as my buddy is not always able to hear the typical shaker devices. Also like that it has a lock so it doesn't go off by accident.

I've used my Dive Alert Plus v2 three times since I purchased two week ago. I have the original dive Alert, but left it in Oregon while living in Hawaii for the winter. The underwater sounding feature is quite good. My buddy can hear me from at least 30 feet away. However I'm disappointed with the surface feature. My live boat could not hear me from 200 yards away, no matter how many times I pressed on the horn. Often I surfaced a quarter mile away. If you dive with a buddy all the time and surface less than 200 yards away, I would recommend this product. If you do a lot of solo diving and come up more than 200 feet away from the boat, I wouldn't buy it. I haven't return it because they don't have the original dive Alert.

I should begin by saying that this worked OK--until it fell apart. As near as I could tell, the sliding part you squeeze to make the horn sound also holds the two parts of the horn together. One side of mine broke allowing the horn part to simply fall off. I was in the boat when that happened, so I don't know if it posed any danger. I bought two of these about a year ago and had maybe 40 dives on it. I used it often as an underwater signaler.

Used the original Dive Alert for many years and it finally needed to be replaced. Ordered the Plus model and wish I had stuck to the original design. Has an on/off switch and seems not to slide well, gets stuck halfway. No button, unit needs to be squeezed but no room between rear and air hose to get fingers or thumb in. Squeeze doesn't seem to be smooth. Not sure it would work properly in emergency.

I took this on my recent dive trip to Catalina Island in Southern California. I was excited to test it out with my dive buddy before using as a dive master this summer. Everything seemed to work well except that my buddy couldn't hear it. This might have been because it was cold water diving and we were wearing hoods. Hopefully it is heard easily in the warm water when the ears are not obstructed.

This is a great dive alert horn if you don't mind the bulkiness. In addition to it being bulky, the first time I unintentionally dropped the BCD while it was still attached, the plastic cracked in a corner. I was still able to use it after that, I just know that it has a little crack in the plastic, which makes me feel uncomfortable. Further, when you come out of the water and need to use it, if all the water is not drained out of it, then it won't work properly. So, here is my personal opinion: If your BCD uses a 1-inch diameter corrugated hose, replace the inflator with the Aquatec Inflator with integrated Horn. it will be cheaper, save space, and will work twice a good.

Easy to use device for above water alerting or below water signaling. Slightly bulky, but does not interfere with use of alternative air supply or bcd inflator. Make sure you get the correct version for your alternate air supply. This model works with my Zeagle combination bcd inflator/ alternate air source.

Every diver should have one. It's loud on the surface and easily attracts attention under water. Don't dive without one.

With the surface use you have a powerful alert horn and with the underwater signaling mode you can get someone's attention so no more tank bangers or rattles which means you have one less thing to forget or lose

I upgraded to the new v2 from there old one but they haven't gotten the combined underwater/surface signal with-one-button right on this new version yet. The underwater signal blows just air most of the time. I didn't mind toggling from Air to Water on the last one, so I would recommend buying one of those instead (if you can still find them) - it worked much better.. I will start looking for one of the old types to replace this v2.

This is easy to install and use. I liked the fact that is can be used under water and above! The above water aspect is excellent. If you have ever surfaced and tried to get the dive boats attention with a whistle, you know it almost never works. With the air horn feature you will be heard! Underwater it gets your dive buddy's attention when used. I bought one for me and my spouse.

The product works well enough and integrates easily to my AIR2 setup but I might consider shortening the length of the BCD inflator hose to compensate for adding the Dive Alert in line. The unit is a slightly more fragile than I would like since this is my second unit after only a year. The first unit broke when the plastic stand offs snapped during deceleration trauma with the garage floor. Other than that a good piece of safety gear for my rig.

Product Great, CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT

Leisure Pro customer service leaves something to be desired. Online chat customer service does not listen to your question, assumes you are dumb and gives incorrect answers. Contact Us customer service helps until they have your money secured then they ignore you. Was given a discount because of poor service, had to return the item to get the correct item so discount was taken away and now no one has time to tell me why. Dive Alert-Plus v.2 is a specially designed, small, lightweight air horn that uses quick-connect/disconnect hose couplings to become an integrated part of your power inflator, breathable/inflator and buoyancy compensator. Installation is easy and only takes a moment. Dive Alert-Plus does not require any modification of your other equipment, and it does not interfere with the normal operation of your other equipment. Dive Alert-Plus enables divers to signal both above and below the water's surface.
There are three different models available; one for approximately 85% of standard power inflator mechanisms model DV1. There are several breathable/inflator mechanisms that require a larger coupling for a higher flow of air so there are two models to accommodate them. The model DV2 and the model DV3 (see list below).
Why have Dive Alert Plus? What would you do in a diving emergency if you needed to get the attention of the pick-up boat or someone else on the water's surface? Before Dive Alert-Plus Scuba divers had relied on whistles or a SMB (surface marker buoy) as their only signaling devices in such an emergency. But if the diver is disabled and can't blow into a whistle (or deploy the SMB) the whistle makes no sound at all. Or if the boat operator is not looking in the direction of a diver with a SMB deployed (if the diver was able to even deploy the SMB) the diver goes un-noticed.
Or, what would you do if you wanted the attention of your dive buddy underwater, for whatever reason, and he was simply distracted and not paying attention to you at that very moment? Traditionally, you would be forced to swim up to him or her until you got their attention. In contrast, Dive Alert-Plus enables divers at the mere touch of a button to generate a loud blast of sound on the surface that can be heard up to a mile (1.6 km) away! Or, by switching the Dive Alert-Plus diverter valve for subsurface signaling the diver can now signal for his dive buddy's attention underwater!
When you need to get someone's attention on the water's surface, you simply select AIR operation with your diverter valve, press the button and Dive Alert-Plus uses a small amount of air from your Scuba tank to make a piercingly loud sound. Or, when you want to get someone's attention under the water's surface, you simply select H2O operation with your diverter valve, press the button and Dive Alert-Plus uses a small amount of air from your Scuba tank to make a percussion noise to alert your dive buddy. The Dive Alert is manufactured with a durable impact resistant injected molded thermoplastic body and internal elements, stainless-steel horn & buzzer diaphragms and quick-disconnect/connect coupling are chrome plated brass.
