Questions & Answers

Christopher S : Anyone know where I can get replacement bleeder thumb screws for this?Mario C : Unfortunately we do not have access to parts for this adapter. Not sure where you could find asides from trying to match it at a hardware store.
John M : Just received this and can't use it. Our compressor is used to fill our Scott bottles to 5500 psi. Do you think a CGA 347 adapter will be my fix?ROBERT G : I use my adapter to fill my bottles from my FD's compressor without any problems. I adjust the compressor's psi output to 3000 down from 5500.HERBERT B : We ordered the 347 adapter for our compressor at the Fire Dept. and it works fineJOHN O : Yes it is a CGA fitting. Check online with breathing air systems, they should have the fitting or if you have spare scott packs that are out of service you can take the fitting off of it.BRANDON B : Just curious -- why can't you use it? I use mine (model shown) to fill my scuba tanks using our compressor system with no problems. We have a Mako compressor system and Scott bottles and the threads fit on the fill output (female collar) side with no issue. The only thing I need to do is make sure the safety catch lever on the inside is pushed up (I use a structural glove) since I can't close the door with the aluminum 80s I'm filling. Mako technical support is who told me to do it that way -- and ensure I don't overfill by setting the pressure relief regulator to 3300 before I fill.
Shopper : Does anyone know the thread size on the brass adapter?KEVIN F : Thread size is 0.830”-14 NGO right handed Best matched with CGA 346
Brian Y : Could I use this adapter to fill a Scott AirPak using a SCUBA cylinder?CHARLES C : Your scuba cylinder is 3000 PSI your Scott air pack is either 2216 or 4500 PSI depending on the model. Either way no you would need a double female to reverse connect the air pack to the scuba. At best you could equalize the pressure between the two but you would nor be able to fill one or the other with out a compressor or cascade. This adapter is designed to screw into an SCBA fill hose and fill the scuba cylinder. I use it because I can always find a fire dept that has a cascade for a free fill. But remember your air grade needs to be grade D, you don't want just any grade air at even moderate depths that could be very bad for you!! Every cascade has an inspection tag on it identifying the grade air so stay on top of that.DAVID K : Technically yes. However, just remember that the scuba cylinder and the airpak are going to equalize in pressure meaning that that once the pressure in the airpak is equal to the pressure in the scuba cylinder, then there will be no more flow to either of them. Also, most modern airpaks are 4500 psi cylinders, your average scuba cylinder is 3000 psi. This mean that the 40 minutes that you are supposed to get out of a modern airpak will be closer to a 10 to 15 minute cylinder after the pressure in each tank has equalized. So it is not the best method of filling an airpak. This device is primarily used to adapt a mobile airpak fill station so that it can fill a scuba tank. Typically you will have to use the side fill line if you have the fill station that has a tank drawer since most fill stations cannot support an aluminum 80 in a drawer.GERALD Y : yesANDREW M : Yes you could, however you will half the PSI of the original tank because you are doubling the volume. Its much easier to fill your tank directly in the long run.CHARLES N : No. This SCUBA adapter allows a yoke tank to be filled from a female thread. The GMC will not work tank to tank but will allow a SCUBA tank to be filled from most NFPA fire service air compressors. Please be properly trained before using any compressed air system.ROBERT S : No, not as it is. If you bought the hose and the adapter for a Scott AirPak the best you could do is equalize the pressure between the scba bottle and scuba bottle. This adapter is used on an existing scba whip (which is normally used to fill firefighting bottles off a compressor or cascade fill station), which allows you to fill SCUBA tanks off the same whip as scba bottles..STEVE C : Would say yes - if u have all the fittings/hoses to make the connection. A direct fill is not going to be very efficient though -- without a pump -- u will only fill it 50% of whatever pressure u have in the SCUBA tank.MATT B : This item is made to fill SCUBA cylinders from a compressor station that most fire departments have for filling SCBA cylinders. It simply adapts the fill station form the fitting for Scott SCBA cylinders to SCUBA Yoke. You would not be able to fill from SCUBA to Scott SCBA using this.DOUGLAS M : If you had a hose with GMC SCBA female fittings on each end you could. However, remember that SCOTT SCBA cylinders are typically filled at a higher pressure (4500 psi) than SCUBA cylinders (avg 3000 psi). Therefore, your SCBA bottles won't be filled to their capacity. Hope this helps you!
Shopper : Does this adapter have the same nipple/male end as the Scott Air Pack bottles? (i.e. will the connection on the Scott Air Pack fill station work with this?) They are the 4500psi bottles.LeisurePro S : Yes

Fire dept. air fill.

Worked great. Only problem was the fire dept. didn't have a water tank to cool them and I ended up with only 2700 psi.

No problems

Fits the SCBA compressor at my fire station perfect. Don’t think there’s a difference in threads for SCBA’s but if there is ours are 4500 psi Scott packs

SCBA adapter

Fit my tank and worked as promised. We refill air rifles from these scuba tanks and we needed an adapter to work with the local fire company fill station. Filled two tanks without any problems using the adapter.

Simple solution all teams should have

Dive teams can get caught on a site for extended periods, as we have. Having this adapter (now the second one I own) provides for the ability for the local fire department we may be assisting to be able to fill our tanks. We have been up to 7 days on a search and having the ability to fill without traveling to the nearest scuba cascade(over an hour away that time) allowed us to continue our task without sacraficing a runner to go get fills. I would like to see the dust caps come with this item and, although, not listed with item and was not expecting to get caps, sure keeps the dust bunnies out when not in use.

SCBA Adapter Needed? Buy this one!!

There was no Dive Shop anywhere near the lake I was planning on Diving (nearest shop was 50 miles away abd I wasn't about to rent 6 tanks for my multi dive plans. I rented two instead and and had them filled locally at he Fire Dept. Just a simple phone call to the local Dept before my trip to confirm I would be able to BUY air fills to support the local Fire Hall and voila!!! Problems solved, with the adapter i was able to get air fills just a few miles awy from the lake. Thanks Leisure Pro!!!

Big money saver

This product is not for the novice, but it will save you money and pay for itself. I have access to a properly maintained compressor system that is rated Grade E (air grade quality for diving). I am the person responsible for this system so I know I can trust the air quality. If this applies to you as well and you dive often, it will pay for it self in a couple of dives with your buddies.
