Questions & Answers

BENJAMIN W : What is the entire knife length?  Only information is blade length.darrick c : Hello Benjamin, the total length of this knife is 10 inches.
Shopper : I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?JOSHUA A : I picked it purely on price, and boy am I sorry I did! While the knife is designed VERY well, the case is pure garbage! The placement of the retainer clips makes it easy to break them off. I know have a great dive knfe with no holster to put it in, so I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I'm not sure if Leisure pro sells them, but I did purchase an Underwater Kinetics "BlueTang" Titanium from a dive shop here in Okinawa, and I absolutely love it! So sorry for the delay, I hope this helps. See you on the bottom :) JoshBRIAN P : I purchased this knife as I was looking for a small reliable knife to clip to the BC....I clip it to a lanyard. I'm happy with it - would buy another one.BRITTANY R : I was getting my husband gear so he could go skin diving/lobstering (which he had never done before) and his friend suggested I get my husband this knife, as his friend had been skin diving numerous times and had been using and liking this knife. My husband has gone a few times and he says, "It's awesome." I have nothing to compare it to, but he's happy with it.ALBERT T : It's a nice knife and pretty cool looking with a comfortable feeling grip. Unfortunately, I've never gotten a chance to use it. The clip/locking mechanism on the sheath broke the day it arrived. It's a rather cheap, plastic sheath that's very brittle. I would be surprised if all 4 strap points didn't break as well when you strap it to your arm/leg. Save yourself the trouble and buy something else.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JOSHUA H : Like the lock it uses.

Sharp and safe

Bought this knife for lobster season. Sharp and rust free. I use this with the neoprene leg sheath. A perfect combination.

awesome knife, clever retention system but sheath has some issues

I've owned two of these knives so far. I initially purchsed it b/c the knife is very well constructed with a full tang blade, comfy grip, very quick knife release system and resonable price point. Unfortunately one has to be very careful when returning the knife to the sheath and ensure that both release clips pop back into place (thats how I lost my first one). I kept using my original sheath and never had any problems with it until about 10 minutes ago when i pulled it out to write this review, broke a sheath retention clip (plastic is a little brittle) but not bad for 18 months, about 300 boat cleanings, countless spearfishing trips, dive bombs, UV degredation, sitting in a hot car in S. Florida and generally knocking about. Overall, I hope akona can refine the release system a hair but if i lost mine tomorrow id still buy it again. Great knife.

Great Knife Poor Sheath

Love the Knife but hate the sheath. One of the tabs that works with the kife to lock it in broke on first dive. I came up without the knife, but lucky for me another diver on the boat found it and returned it to me when he was the empty sheath.

Retention clips break :(

I bought this knife from a local dive shop. On it's second dive, when I removed it from my leg, it dropped all of a foot and a half to the floor. The retention clip portion that hold the knife in broke and the knife popped out. Very weak craftsmanship on the knife case. The knife itself is good though.

Secure Straps

I was paranoid about the knife slipping off my leg, but the belt-like straps are very secure and I can swim and dive w/o worry of it coming loose.

A bit disappointed in the sheath.....

I bought this knife knowing that the handle was large enough for my big hands and the 5mm gloves I wear here in the Pacific Northwest. Sure enough the knife is fine but the sheath is poorly made. I'm going to assume that the sheath is supposed to be made from high impact injection molded plastic. If so, it's too brittle because when I received the knife one of the plastic knife retaining locks was broken clean off and in the bottom of the sheath. I need this knife for an upcoming AOW class; but I'll be sending the sheath back to LeisurePro to be swapped out.

Only dissapointing purchase made from LP

[...] A plastic retention tab on the sheath broke while removing it from the box it was delivered in. Now, I can't return for 6 months...If LP will take it back then.

Great Knife, Sheath Could use some work.

The knife works really well, caught 3 flounder with the knife. The sheath only has the 3/4 inch strap support, can not be attached to 1 or 2 inch web straps. One of the clips that hold the knife in broke on the 3rd dive.

Great Scallop Knife

This knife is great for getting scallops because the metal goes all the way through the handle.

Great knife, nice and compact with a nice grip. Only complaint like g man, better secure the knife to the sheath or else........ I thought it felt secure, but my lies on the bottom as well. Hope somebody finds it! I will buy the same knife because I was really happy with it, but will add a little flair to it.

great knife, however make sure you add an elastic lanyard to secure the knife in the scabbard. I lost mine while diving the north wall in grand cayman....4000'deep to the bottom
