Heavy duty dive booties without the zipper and extra weight of high top models

A very good compromise. Hard soled protection in a streamlined booty. As I do a lot of shore diving which involves entries and exits involving surfaces that can be quite unfriendly such as coral or lava, hard soled booties are a must. At the same time, am trying to reimagine my dive bag as a hard side carryon. My previous set up was 5 mm hard soled high tops that zipped up the side. This was a failure point as the zipper would inevitably become rusted and the necks were subject to ripping the neoprene. It was also extra weight. These booties offer the hard soled protection in a compact low cut booty that is designed (w/ a loop on the back) to be easy putting on and off without damage.

Great Quality, Narrow Fit

Nicely made, great arch support and a good value. The size 11 was the right length, but were cut too narrow for my foot, so I had to return them. I take a size 10 in Mares and Seasoft boots, which are wider in the front than the Akona's.

Best shortie boot

This is my third pair of the same type short booty love them love them I?Äôll continue to buy them. I dive a lot and wear them around the pool, the boat and anywhere there is water. Scuba.com got them to me quickly just before my 7 day live aboard. Wore them almost the whole time except when I slept of course. Even ashore it?Äôs great footwear! Thanks again Scuba.com. The Akona Fit Low-Cut Boots have a sneaker-like molded sole. With arch support the Akona Fit boots are both comfortable and durable. Nylon webbing runs vertically up the back of the boot to provide more durability and strength when pulling the boots on. Vulcanized heel and toe caps provide strength and durability in high wear areas. Boot is made from 3.5mm nylon-2 neoprene rubber with glued and sewn seams. Boot is black in color and available in multiple sizes.
