Questions & Answers

NICHOLAS R : How many tank straps does it come with? If only one, can one be easily added?ROBERT G : It comes with one. You could easily add a second as the plastic plate that the strap threads through actually has 3 slots for straps.WILLIAM H : One and yes.Robert G : It only comes with one tank strap. I have never had any problems with mine. You can try to add another one, but I am not sure how you would do it. This has been a great BCD!JOE S : it is only one strap but there is a hard back plate for stability so you will not need a second strapDANIEL P : It comes with a single strap, however the tank harness has slots for more straps and I've been thinking of adding another myself.
ERIC H : I am 5' 7" and 215 pounds with a 47 inch chest. Will the XL fit me?Terri J : I am 5'7" and 185lbs and mine is to big. Actually it's to long. When it's comfortable around my waist it's inches about my shoulders. Ugh.DANIEL P : I'm 5'10" and 200LBS. I ordered an L and I wish i had ordered a M. It runs large.KEITH N : They do run large. I had ordered the 2xl but found I needed the XL. I am 6'2" and 240 lbsPETER H : yesWILLIAM H : I am 5' 10" and 225 pounds with a 49 inch chest and it fits me perfectly. If anything, it may be just a tad loose for you.RAYMOND J : Yes No problem I'm 5ft 11inches with a 50 inch chest so your be right with itJOE S : You are borderline LG and XL. The shoulder straps might be a little long on a XL. You can go to this link and look under specs to see where you fall. http://www.diveaeris.com/atmos-hd/ CHRISTOPHER B : I would start with the large. I'm 6'1" and 200 and had to send the XL back because it was way too big.
Shopper : the pictures indicate this is a •Integrated Weight System,, but nothing about that in the description, is it?RANDALL Y : It is an integrated weight system. You see the lighter gray snap handles in the picture. You do have to press in on the black snap to get the weights off in an emergency, but this is easy to do and I prefer it to gear we have rented in the past that was TOO easy to get out. Also trim weight pouches easily accessible on the back.WILLIAM L : Yes it is integrated. Has dumpable pockets in the front and two non dumpable on the tank strap. BRAD B : Yes there are 2 quick release wight pockets on the front/sides and 2 non-dumpable weight pocket on the tank strap.MICHAEL W : Yes, the gray clip you see holds the weights in a firm separate pouch, which slides in and out of the sleeve very easily.CLAYTON W : Yes. I purchased this BC a few months ago and it is a great BC. It has the intergrated weight system in the side pockets with quick release buckles of emergency dumping of weights. Each pocket will hold up to 10 lbs for a total of 20lbs. It also has non dumpable pouches on the tank strAp for extra weight and/or trim weights. JIM T : Yes it is. The pocket / pouch on each side can hold 2 standard sized (eg 5 lb) lead weight blocks. The pouch has double retension: velcro closure plus snap-in cips. There are also small side/ rear/shoulder-blade pockets that can each hold 1 lead block.ROBERT G : Yes. Looking at the picture you will see two gray handles at the front bottom of the vest. Those are quick release handles that when you disconnect them from the vest and pull them out, there are pouches attached to them that slide into pockets in the front of the vest. You can put weights in those pockets. There are also two pouches attached to the tank strap on the back of the vest in which weights can be placed.WILLIAM E : Yes, the BC is weight integrated. CHRIS C : Yes this BCD has two large removable pcckets with quick release buckles, I also added two weight pouches on the tank strap. Just got back from Mexico. Over twenty dives with this BCD. No complaintsLindsey H : Yes there's integrated weight pouch on each side. If you look at the picture closely there is a grey handle just before the waste clip. There's one on each side plus a pouch on the back.JUNE H : The ATMOS is weight-integrated with a combination of dumpable (20 lbs.) and non-dumpable (10 lbs.) weight pockets.CHRISTOPHER B : I bought my Atmos last month and have 27 dives with it so far. It is weight integrated and has an excellent release system. By the way, add the Aeris octo-inflater--totally nice to be able to have one less hose.
Bill F : Does have a breathing tube. All I need with this BC is a mask, fins and air tank? thank youMonica s : No you cannot breath off of this, this is a Buoyancy Compensator Jacket with a standard power inflator, not a Breathing regulator. You still need a full regulator set up (1st stage 2nd stage octo, and gauges)
Frederick M : Would this be an appropriate first bcd for someone mainly interested in reef diving in warm locales?WAYNE H : yesJOE S : This would be a great BC for a first BC. This is a hybrid bc which means that at the surface it will not push you forward making it uncomfortable. However on the dive, the air transfers from the lobes on the side to the wing in the back giving you the proper trim that a back inflation BCD gives. It's not very heavy or bulky so it would be great for warm water.BILL S : It would be perfect for that application.

Great BCD for even better price

When I bought this BCD it was on clearance so the price was even better than usual. Other reviews say the sizes run large and I think I agree. I am 6'0" and 245 lbs and my other BCDs are XXL but I convinced myself to try the XL for this BCD. The fit is great with still some room for bigger adjustment. It provides plenty of lift as well. My previous BCDs were all jacket style so the floatation provided on the surface would tend to float me upright in the water. This BCD is a hybrid jacket/wing style, meaning it fits and operates like a jacket style but most of the bladder is behind me like a wing style BCD. This is awesome when I'm actually diving and trying to be mostly horizontal in the water. On the surface it tends to try to float me face down which is not great. I love that this BCD has so many D-rings and attach points (I tend to carry a bunch of gear). The pockets are also easy to get to and plenty big. One thing I really like is the direction of the pocket zippers. I have seen other BCDs with the zipper toward the rear of the pocket when closed and this is hard to get to. I prefer zippers to the front when the pocket is closed. The integrated weight system is nothing special but works as designed. I'm also happy the BCD includes trim weight pockets on the tank belt. The back plate is very comfortable and the shoulder straps are especially nice. The shoulder straps have a curve/contour which makes them wrap snug around the shoulders without also fitting across your chest or stomach. I feel like I have much better arm mobility and easier chest expansion (which means easier breathing). In summary, I like this BCD so much I'm tempted to buy a 2nd one so I will have another when this current one finally wears out.

Great Value - Rugged BCD

Always amazed at how in expensive this BDC is, great value for the money. They do run a little large but are rugged and very comfortable. Seems odd that it is a close out, I would buy one again.

Good BCD but runs large / LP not so good this time around

Having had the same BCD for the last 20 years and logging over 5000 dives in it I decided I needed a new one. I initially ordered the Aeris Atmos in 2XL based on the “opinion” of the sales person. Having never been steered wrong by Leisure Pro sales team before and always having a great experience with their sales team I placed the order while it was on sale. I received the BCD in 10 days and was off on my annual 2 week drive trip. I found the BCD was a bit larger than I was comfortable with after about 3 dives and also found that the tank strap was beginning to fray along the edges. I cleaned up the BCD and put it back in my suit case for the rest of the trip and use the loaner equipment from the resort. The BCD is made of good quality materials and with the exceptions of the frayed tank strap looked to be well made and functional, heck even the weight pockets stayed in place. Enough so that I wanted to just exchange the larger one for the next size down. When I returned from the trip I contacted Leisure Pro about an exchange or return based on the size and the fraying strap which they agreed to under the used equipment return (store credit or exchange). I understood this as I did use it for 3 dives and was willing to live with the difference between the store credit and the sales price of the BCD. What happened is that come December after the return processed is they have raised the price of the BCD to $334.95 from the initial purchase of $274.95 and now I have had to pay the difference between the store credit given ($253.00) and the new price of $334.95. This does not seem right as I was just exchanging for a smaller size. I have always enjoyed working with Leisure Pro’s sales team and they have always been great to deal with but I will find it very hard to do any additional business with them in the future and I will not be recommending them to our dive club members again. BOTTOM LINE: Great BCD that runs large and poor customer service

great for all around diving

This BCD seems to be great for recreational diving. I have not put it to the test for professional use yet. I work on a dive boat in the Atlantic and use a Zeagle 911 right now. This BCD is comfortable and I like the hybrid design floatation. it has enough D rings to hook up my reels and lift bags. Again I haven't put it to the extreme test yet. It is great when doing instructional diving.

Very good BC, integrated and trim weight

Very good BC, but need to get it wet before attaching to tank. We had numerous issues of it slipping on completion of the dive and have never had that problem before. Hoping that when it breaks in more it happens less. My wife had hers slip in the ocean and this was after the divemaster on the boat attached it to the tank. Wasn't just us. :)

Full of Features

I counted NINE d rings for attaching all the extra goodies. Two nice big pockets, too. The two pockets for trim weights is helpful. My only negative issue was the tank tightening strap was too loose from the factory and I was not familiar with the technique to tighten it. After nearly losing the tank on the first dive, I ascended and was able to determine what needed to be done to properly tighten it. The mechanism is not like the cam-lok I have used in the past, but works well once you learn how.
