Almost really good

I bought this item to top tire tube dive flag for night dives. Overall great beacon, but touchy between light settings. Not a big enough reflector cone for purpose purchased. Not tested to depths Would be adequate for tank beacon if depth rated

I purchased this strobe for emergency use on my PFD while kayaking. Fortunately I have not had to use it in an emergency situation so I can only comment on the product itself vice its use in an emergency. The ACR Firefly Pro LED Strobe is compact in size and easy to operate. The provided (Velcro type) mounting straps make enable secure mounting to anything they can be wrapped around. The three position slide switch is easily operated and mounted in such a way that makes accidental operation highly unlikely. The light itself is extremely bright and I have no doubt it will do the job it has been designed to do. Based on what I have experienced so fay I highly recommend this emergency strobe.

The Firefly PRO emergency strobe light boasts an all-new light output power management system that produces over 41 candela of light per strobe for up to 56 hours of use with standard alkaline batteries. Using wide light emission LEDs, it cuts through the foulest conditions creating a super-bright flash visible for over 3.5 miles (5.6 km). ACR's innovative new wide light emission LEDs produce a 360° beam of light (41 candela). ACR's cool white light has no yellow tinting which allows for a more visible light beam that can be seen at greater distances. With an energy efficient microprocessor and redesigned electronics, the Firefly PRO boasts maximum operation life in the harshest of conditions. With a single set of AA alkaline batteries, the Firefly PRO will continuously strobe for over 56 hours or use the Steady-On feature for 28 hours. That is twice as long as ACR's competitors and exceeds USCG and SOLAS requirements by over 48 hours. The new compact size will easily fit inside an inflatable life jacket or pocket for comfortable wear-ability. The military spec casing is rugged enough to withstand years of abuse and the harshest environments. The two lashing loops and included Velcro strap make mounting the Firefly PRO to your life jacket, belt or pack extremely easy so that the strobe light can be readily accessible the moment you need it.

The strobe LED lamp will produce 301 lumens in strobe and SOS modes and 124 in steady-on mode. The strobe flash rate is 60 per minute and the durable impact resistant case allows submergence to 10' (3m). The strobe measures 4.4" x 2.2" x 1.2" (11.7cm x 5.7cm x 2.8cm) and weights 2.39 oz.
