I bought these for diving in winter sub 40F water thinking the 3 finger claw design would work great just like my ski mitts on the slopes. They were certainly warm but the downside was I found them too bulky and I did not feel safe diving in them, for example I could not use my hands to operate dive reel. Like diving with no hands. Only used them once , they are now in their original box in the basement as unfortunately gloves are not covered under Leisure Pros return policy in the event you're not happy. I bought the Waterproof 5 finger 5mm version instead

I am a commercial diver, diving cold water in Alaska and nothing compares to these gloves. I was apprehensive at first because I wasn’t sure if I would like diving with 3 finger mitts. Turns out getting used to mitts was natural, and you can have surprising dexterity with these even though they are 7mm and 3 finger. When these gloves are new and are sized properly, your hands will stay DRY for up to the first 20-30 mins of the dive. Of course this deteriorated as the gloves break in, but even once saturated my hands have never gotten cold in this gloves. If you want 7mm dive gloves for cold water - stop looking because you found them. Great gloves. I am getting ready to order my third pair.

Finding gloves for women is always difficult. I ordered both a small and medium and kept the small. They’re snug on my wrist/forearm but the perfect finger length. These gloves are so warm, honestly warmer than any combo of dry glove and liner I tried. Perfect for PNW cold water. The 4 stars vs 5 is because of the difficulty to get on/off. This is to be expected with a 7mm glove. I’m assuming any looser of a lining at the wrist though and they wouldn’t be as warm. I’m just going to start using baby shampoo to don these and hope that helps.

Warm gloves and great quality the only drawback is the obvious loss of dexterity in the lobster style gloves over traditional five finger gloves but if you were looking for warmth then look no further.

These mitts work great for what they are designed for - keeping the hands warm. I use them for diving in 38 to 52 F water in Alaska.

These are the only gloves that I have used that have been able to keep my hands warm in 35 degree water. I read that they run small/tight, so I bought XLs and I'm glad I did.

Print off the sizing chart from the web site. It's spot on. I normally where a large or x large. I ordered a XX Large. Fits great. I was wearing 5 finger 5mm gloves. I dive mostly Lake Michigan. Temps been around 45F. Fingers used to be unbearably cold. Now bottom time at 80 feet has been around 20 mins without misery. Thumb gets slightly chilly with the new gloves but not bad. I highly recommed these gloves. Only complaint is they can be difficult to put on. I recommend rolling wet suit arms up and putting all your gear on, BC buckles ect. The second glove you still may need help with. A hassle but worth it. Very good purchase.

So I got the gloves in large based on the sizing chart, and as everyone else said, they run small. I returned them for extra large the fit just right. The wrist is a little tight but, I am sure they will loose up with use. Leisurpro did a great gob with replacing them for the right size. These gloves are made very well and just feel great. Have not gon on a dive yet so I can't say much more yet.

This is a follow up review. Previously gave the product a great review. Now a follow up on customer service at LeisurePro and Waterproof. After about a year, the internal lining of one glove started to "peel" a little. So I finished the season with it and then contacted Waterproof. Advised needed to go through LeisurePro regarding a warranty issue. Contacted LeisurePro, very easy process. Sent gloves back to LeisurePro who then forwards them to Waterproof. (kinda round about process, but it is what it is). Waterproof replaced the gloves with brand new ones. The whole process took 4-6 weeks, which is what I was told prior to sending them back. So LeisurePro and Waterproof came through and the process involved minimal pain. Would have been better if it would have been a shorter turn around time, but was able to time it such that it caused no inconvenience.

I wanted to make sure I remember to review this, hope it helps. My 5mm gloves are size L and a little loose. I got the L size G1-3 gloves. They go on snug, easily if they sit in warm water for a few. We dove the St. Joe river in S.W. Michigan today. Small ice flows and 34 deg. water. I was in for 25 min's. Not only did my fingers not get cold, they were actually warm, I highly recommend these for serious cold water dives.

Last fall the only issue I had was that my hands were getting cold, frequently. So I did some research, scouring the web, querying the tech divers I know. The name Waterproof came up a few times. My online search lead to this glove, the reviews were stellar, the only comment related to the sizing of the glove. That being that they ran small and to order a size larger than you would normally. Well I listened to the reviews and ordered an XL. They came and they were too big. So Leisure Pro came to the rescue, I sent back the gloves on their dime. They sent out a large, my typical size, on their dime. So kudos to Leisure Pro, per usual. I have used the gloves on 24 dives to as low as 42 degrees F, and dives as long as 80+ minutes in temperatures averaging 42 to 50 with no issues what so ever. I will never dive in dry gloves. These provide just as good dexterity and are a lot tougher. They can be a little difficult to get on at first, but once I came up with a systematic approach, not too big a deal.

Asked to spend some time in the Falkland Islands over their winter, I brought down my "cold" water gear from Oregon. The first dive was fantastic - 50 feet visibility, giant kelp and great invertebrate life. Unfortunately my 5 mm gloves that are fine in Oregon - even in winter - weren't up to the task. My hands were numb and then painful after a 40 minute research dive in 37 degree F water. My dive buddies raved about these waterproof gloves and 3 weeks later I had my own pair. I dived yesterday for the first time with them and 40 minutes later my hands were fine - not even a hint of cold. Wow what a difference they make - the diving has gone from great to extraordinary. As other reviewers have said buy at least a size larger than you need. Otherwise I couldn't say enough good things about these gloves.

The gloves are great cold water gloves. They do an awesome job. Hint: get gloves 2 sizes larger. They run small.

these gloves are "totally incredible" very little water comes in. To me these gloves are a little snug will need help to put on. I would recommend these gloves to anyone doing spring time dives or fall to winter dives

As recommended to me by the Parks Canada Archeological Dive Team, I am using the 5mm gloves with kayak glove liners for my 1st 45 to 60 minute dive in 40F water.2nd dive is a 2nd set of kayak liners and the 7mm gloves. No more cold hands and the gloves are not restrictive in dexterity.

These gloves are FANTASTIC, like stated in previous reviews, mine too stayed dry until I went to deeper depths and I had to let water in to relieve a squeeze. If you normally wear a medium, get a large, wear a large? get an XL. the sizing is weird, but its well worth the wait. Dont get the suggested size, it will take you longer to get your gloves on than the rest of your gear. TRUST ME

they really reduce water flow. my hands stayed completely dry for the first half of the dive. I downloaded the size chart. It suggested a large, I ordered an XL which I was bearly able to get on. The no hassle exchange to an XXL was a very easy process. I was very happy with Leisure Pro' s service. But do recommend at least one size larger.

An excellent "Sleestack" style glove. Used during my 2012 Ice Diver certification in Minnesota and my hands never felt cold (about 33 degrees at surface, about 36 degrees further down). I highly recommend this glove for cold water diving.

Great mitts
By BRIAN H.
These mitts work great for what they are designed for - keeping the hands warm. I use them for diving in 38 to 52 F water in Alaska.
The body reacts to cold by adjusting the blood flow to the extremities, like hands, fingers and feet. White Fingers is a common condition in extreme cold or a result from prolonged exposure and decreased blood flow, if you add restriction and squeeze into the equation these conditions can worsen. Waterproof's G1 Glove series is constructed with all this in mind. Better fit and flexibility, enhanced warmth, less restriction and squeeze. Waterproof's pressure tested 7mm Semi- Dry Glove was polar evaluated and features a 3mm internal seal to keep your hands extra warm and dry.
The G1, 3-Finger 7mm Dry Gloves have an ergonomically designed 3-D shape with pre-bent fingers for a more natural fit. The glide-skin seal, extra-long, durable and quality YKK zipper with pull tab mean easy donning and doffing. Built to last the gloves seams are glued and sewn with bonded high-quality nylon thread and the I-Span super-stretch nylon will give you many seasons of warm hand diving. The G1, 3-Finger 7mm Dry Gloves have palms with polyurethane embossing that provides a non-slip grip and abrasion protection., Reflective logo and an ID-plate so you know these gloves are yours. Gloves are available in multiple sizes and are black in color.
