Questions & Answers

Felipe A : what about the guarantee?KEVIN F : This product has a limited lifetime warranty.
Shopper : Do I need a din conversion kit?Carl A : NoBarbara A : Scuba pro makes din and yoke versions. To use the yoke version on a din tank, you can get a din to yoke tank adaptor, but I do not think that you can get a din adaptor for a yoke tank.GEORGE I : This is a yoke type regulator and if the tank is a DIN valve then you will need a screw insert to adapt the regulator to the tank. I have never had a problem with a dive operator having the inserts when all available tanks have DIN valves.
PAT B : DOSE THIS INCLUDE THE HOSES FOR THE REGULATOR AND OCTO?JUNE H : This set will include one LP hose only.
J B : I need to replace my second stage - it leaks and is 20+ years old. I'm wondering (as I don't purchase equipment often) if I can attach a newer second stage to my existing (older) first stage. Does it need to be the same brand? The brand of my old reg is no longer in existence - Dacor. I'd like to save a bit of $$ since my husband is getting certified, so we need to put more into his equipment and training right now. Suggestions?? Should I bite the bullet and just get a new 1st & 2nd? Can I still use my existing octopus and gauges with a new 1st stage? Thanks :)KEVIN F : You can attach a second stage to your existing first stage. We currently sell 15 different second stages without first stages. However, since your current setup is no longer being manufactured, and it is recommended you get it serviced regularly, you may want to choose from some of our very affordable options of regulator sets. You can get a set (1st stage, 2nd stage, alternate 2nd stage) for as little as $230. Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JOHN B : I'm familiar with the Scubapro brand. It's reliable and has a good warranty backing it. It's reliable and durable!

About Scubapro MK21/S560 Regulator

The Scubapro MK21/S560 is more than an excellent mid-range system. This combination offers high-performance, reliable Scubapro technology and value. The Scubapro MK21 is a compact sized piston-controlled first stage. Close to 20% smaller than Scubapro's MK25, MK21 is a mid-range air balanced, first stage. Air balanced pistons deliver significantly more air to the second stage than any other first stage, while their performance is totally unaffected by the changing tank pressure. A balanced piston allows the use of lighter and more sensitive components, resulting in ultra-fast breathing response, instant delivery of air on demand, and extra high air flow, especially in low tank pressure ranges. The tired diver benefits from a smoother breathing regulator during the ascent or deco stop. Balanced piston first stages are the first choice of demanding sport divers and professionals. A balanced piston performs equally in warm and cold-water environments.

The MK21 First Stage offers the best compromise for the right price and the right performance with ease of maintenance. Cold water diving with Scubapro-Diving conditions can be drastically different, including extreme cold water and outside temperatures, posing the possibility of a regulator "freezing". Therefore, resistance to freezing is imperative for the diver. All Scubapro Regulator Systems are CE approved for 3336 psi (230 bars) cold water diving. Some models go even beyond this super stringent qualification and have successfully been tested in extreme cold diving conditions at less than 3.9°F (3.9°C). As a specific anti-freezing measure, Scubapro engineers have designed a patented finned cap for the MK21 First Stages for optimal cold-water diving. This finned cap is a Thermal Insulating System (TIS). The ribs of the TIS act as a radiator to increase the surface area of heat transfer from the water to warm up the internal parts that have been drastically cooled down by the gas pressure drop.

The MK21 is manufactured from marine grade chrome plated brass, has a balanced composite/stainless steel flow-thru piston and with the standard head it has 4-HF (High Flow) 3/8" threaded low-pressure (LP) ports with hose routing at +/- 20° angles and 2 7/16" threaded high-pressure (HP) ports, one on each side of the body. The MK21 First Stage has an externally adjustable intermediate pressure which allows authorized Scubapro service technicians to quickly fine-tune and adjusts the first stage after maintenance without the need to disassemble it.

The Scubapro S560 Second Stage Regulator is a lightweight, techno-polymer barrel second stage with a rugged, precision molded carbon fiber and techno-polymer case. The S560 is air balanced with diver adjustable inhalation effort and Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist (VIVA). The S560 has a diver adjustable inhalation control that enables personal adjustment of breathing effort. The S560's diver adjustable (VIVA) dive/pre-dive control switch and extra high flow exhaust valve account for easy inhalation & exhalation at any depth or breathing rate. The regulator comes equipped with a 3/8" threaded super-flow hose with strong and durable Kevlar lining and a super comfort high-flow (HF) mouthpiece for smooth air delivery. The Regulator weighs 32.2 oz. (916 g) and comes with an owner's manual.
