Questions & Answers

Shopper : I have a Suunto Cobra now. These dive sensor just went out. I have learned that some of the models on the Suunto Cobra is have a defective dive sensor. Have these been replaced on the ones you're selling?Mario C : Thank you for your question. All of our Suunto units from the time of the settlement were checked and dealt accordingly. For further reading upon the settlement and how to identify if your unit is included please check the link below: https://www.suunto.com/en-us/Support/dive-safety/suunto-dive-settlement/
Shopper : Is this a user replaceable battery?GEORGE T : Yes I replace my battery once a year You need an adjustable watch wrench available on Amazon for less than $10. Be sure to buy the battery replacement kit with oring. Its tricky holding tge cover on and applying pressure while turning the cover to lock it.Martin Z : I have replaced the battery a couple times. You can find the battery and o ring kits online for not too much. You can reuse the orings if they look good, but better to use new ones.DAVID H : Yes, the battery can be owner replaced, be sure to use a new O-ring.JAMES L : Yes, the battery is user replaceable, IF you follow the instructions in your manual and are careful. Some dive shops will replace the battery in the dive computer for just the price of the battery. Probably most dive shops will not do that. CaribJimPETER S : I do not believe so. My recommendation is always to have batteries professionally changed for 2 reasons: You can have the computer rechecked to ensure it’s woring properly and you’ll also avoid leaks. Most importantly you life depends on this device, only have professional open it up. Hope this helps.
MICHAEL B : could this suunto cobra have the depth gauge issue that I keep reading about?JAMES L : My wife and I have used the Suunto Cobra computer for about 15 years. It is a very conservative computer (we like that because it makes us feel safer). Between the two of us we have purchased approximately eight of these computers. We both do around 200 dives each year. I don’t know what “depth gauge issue” you are referring to, but these computers will work correctly until one day they don’t. At that point, if replacing the battery does not take care of the problem, you buy another computer. We always keep an extra Suunto Cobra computer on hand because you never know when that might happen.Martin Z : Not sure exactly what depth issue you were reading about, but I had this same unit for 10+ years and at the end of its life it did have a problem with the depth. It said I was at depth when I was on the surface ( that is why I bought the same unit again in 2014). I have not had any issues with the new unit. I went with the same model again because I was comfortable with this model and I really like it. Hope this helps.PETER S : There have been numerous issues with Suunto dive computers. My remote Di9 was recalled and I just sent it back to Suunto. I suggest that you call Suunto's customer service directly, give them the serial # and they can let you know. Obviously there is no acceptable margin of error with a dive computer. Hope this helps.DAVID H : I got 12 years before the pressure sensor gave up, Suunto made things right with a new cobra 3 for a VERY reasonable cost, so my advice is enjoy diving your Cobra!DENNIS G : I never experienced any issues. 200+ dives on the computer - worldwide travel - always responsive.
CLYDE W : Does the safety stop count down timer display minutes and seconds or just minutes?DAVID H : Minutes and secondsKAT W : Minutes onlyGORDON F : Only minutesBORIS V : Minutes only
ERIC S : Does this model Suunto Cobra Air Integrated have Air/Nitrox/Gauge modes? I have an older model and would like to purchase the same.GEORGE T : My Suunto Cobra does have Air, Nitrox which you can set the percent, and gauge modes.KAT W : YesDAVID H : Yes it does have a gauge mode, great computer, nice software too to log thingsPETER S : Yes it doesERIK B : Also...this computer is VERY conservative. I use it because my drive buddies do, but there are other brands that will calculate more bottom time.ERIK B : Yes. Make sure to purchase the Suunto quik disconnects. If you are buying rags from Leasure Pro they will assemble and send the 'spare' pieces.

About Suunto Cobra Computer Console with Compass

Suunto Cobra is an air-integrated console-mounted dive computer that combines versatile features with a user-friendly design and navigation capabilities. Suunto Cobra simplifies your diving experience because all the information you need relating to depth, time, tank pressure and decompression status is available on one easy-to-read screen. The three-button operation makes the Cobra a snap to use; even if you're wearing thick dive gloves It is air and nitrox compatible and offers you every opportunity to make the most of your time underwater The Cobra displays your tank pressure and remaining air time; two key features to keep you safe and below the surface as long as possible. The Cobra graphs each dive profile and has a dive simulator, which offers you to run through your dive without getting your feet wet!

Navigating the Menu:
Suunto Cobra has four main operating modes - TIME mode (TIME), DIVE mode (DIVE), PLAN mode (PLAN), and MEMORY mode (MEMORY). To toggle between the main modes, press the MODE button. To select a sub mode in DIVE, PLAN and MEMORY modes, press the UP/DOWN buttons. Simple, intuitive and user friendly the Cobra. The Cobra uses the Suunto RGBM algorithm developed by Suunto and Bruce R. Wienke, BSc, MSc, PhD. The goal of Suunto is to keep you safe. The computer has a 36 hour of diving logbook memory. The Cobra provides audible alarms and notifications for dive time, maximum depth, tank pressure, high pO2, fast ascents, and decompression ceiling violations. The Cobra has a back lite display which makes seeing your dive data easy during night and day dives. Cobra provides a depth display range from 0' to 492' (0 to 150m) with an operational range of 0' to 262' (0 to 80m), its clock can be set with a 12 or 24 hour format, provides temperature reading above and below the surface to 1.5°F (1°C) accuracy and is altitude adjustable up to 10,000' (3,000m). The computer can be programed for Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 50% oxygen and displays oxygen partial pressures from 17.4 psi to 23.2 psi (1.2 to 1.6 bars). The Cobra is powered by a user replaceable 3 volt CR2450 lithium ion battery. The Cobra has a pressure readout of 4,000 psi (300 bars) with a maximum allowed pressure of 5,000 psi (360 bars). The Computer can be set for imperial (feet) or metric (meter) measurements. Computer comes with an owner's manual, USB cable and 7/16" threaded high pressure hose. This feature allows you to stow your computer separately from your regulator system and is convenient for logging and downloading dive information.

Many divers take compasses for granted, considering them just an accessory to an overall dive gauge console system. Trying to navigate with a poorly designed or improperly functioning compass can be one of diving's more frustrating events. The Suunto Compass design is liquid filled compass with a list of features as functional and convenient as every instrument that bears the Suunto name.

The SK-8 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-8 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30°, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses. SK-8, the latest edition of Suunto's leading dive compasses, delivers even better underwater performance with faster stabilization and enhanced readability. The instrument can be used over a wider area of the globe thanks to an upgraded magnet. The SK-8 Compass has easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card, and a large side-reading window for gun-sight accurate navigation.

The firm-grip rotating bezel with a ratchet at every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand-and-dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions. The compass bezel has compass headings in 30° numbered increments and indicator-marks for every 5°. Bezel has twin-heading indicators for alignment of compass course and a lubber line across the compass face. The compass is liquid filled for a quick-and-responsive movement. Durable rubber boot has side notch for side reading navigation.

Please note: The compass we sell is calibrated for Zone 1/NH (Northern Hemisphere)
