Questions & Answers

Brian L : What is this jet pack usually used for?Joseph C : For travelling also has full adjustments from XS to XL that means others friend and family members can use it too.in my BCD it is not easy to adjust trimming in the water.RON C : For traveling scuba divers, that allows them to break down the Bc for plane travelDAVID A : The aeris jet pack is a scuba BCD and this model is extremely dangerous ... It has two fatal problems. 1) it absorbs water and does not drain when exiting the water. Therefore you have to carry additional 16-20 lbs of water weight 2). the scuba tank pinches off the bladder preventing ability to dump air during assent. Uncontrolled assent is extremely dangerous. This units should be recalled.VICTOR L : It is an awesome travel BC and water resistant backpack all in one.Jason R : It’s a scuba diving BCD. Perfect for travelling.HIN L : Hi Brian I am not sure what you are asking but it is supposed to be all-in-one BCD, and backpack to put in some dive equipment, and clothes. It does seem like a good idea but some airlines are weighing carry-on bags so this will probably exceed the 7KG/15Pounds limit when you add your regulator and other stuff. I got the first generation BC, and it only had one strap for the tank and it was terribly unstable because there is not backplate; my tank would wobble and I always felt that the tank had come off. I think the second generation is better but I will not be getting it. The weight constraint for carry-on will become more of a problem as airlines find new ways to make money.TIMOTHY M : Regular scuba diving and travel diving.Craig H : When I travel and I want to do only a few dives where I’m going. I take my jetpack. It’s light so I carry it on the plain with my regular.Koh Chee Heong A : It's a compact BCD system with a detachable dry back pack for travel use. Hence, the "Jet". Mean its meant for divers who travels around exploring new dive site.
Brian L : What do I need to provide thrust?Charles J : They call it a jet pack because one can use it as a carry on on a jet plane. It's not a rocket vestCharles J : Fins would work
Brent M : What are the dimensions ?Craig H : It's about 16" wide by 20" tall. BC part is about 4" and extra pack is about 6" thick. I'm 5' 8" with 44" chest and it works well.DAVID A : Don't buy this. It is a death trap. Please read my review. It absorbs and retains water 8-10 lbs. The tank can pinch off the bladder preventing you from dumping the air, blowing you to the surface without ability to make a safety stop.JEFFREY M : Not sure if this helps packed with full three mil wetsuit hollis f2 fins all dive gear and two changes of clothes easily fit in the carry on sizer at the airport you have to play with how you pack it but it can be done
Shopper : Will the Tusa duo air octo combo fit on this bcd?JOE S : The Jetpack will fit with the Tusa Air/Octo. Oceanic also has the Air XS 2 which is made to fit the travel systems by Oceanic/AERIS.DENNIS W : Yes the air/octo combo wil fit . Although I returned the Aeris Travel pack because it was not compact enough for my traveling purposes.
WILLIAM L : will this fit the atomic z2 inflator octo?DAVID A : No sure. However, the key is the diameter of the screw cap seal at the bladder. If Atomic uses a standard size for the bladder then it is a simple unscrew and screw on your inflator/octo. My old Aeria Inflator/octo fit. Check with the manufacturer or visit a local dive shop. They wil be able to answer the question.JOHN K : I believe you are referring to Atomic SS1 inflator/Octo, if so, yes, I’ve just installed SS1 to my Jetpack. SS1 comes with three different adaptors and medium size was correct fit and use the tie-wrap to secure the SS1. Took me less than 10 min. to install SS1 to Jetpack.JOE S : You will need an adapter for it.

About Aeris Jetpack Travel System

The Aeris Jetpack is the ultimate solution for airline carry-on & transport to and from the dive site. It's a true hybrid, not a bag and more than just a mere BC. Aeris took a long look at what it means to travel with Scuba gear to a destination and realized quickly that it didn't make sense to take a BC, your heaviest and most bulky piece of kit with shoulder straps, and stuff it into a bag - so you could carry it... By combining a semi-dry day bag with a one size fits all fully adjustable travel BC, Aeris has managed to create a travel system that can carry a complete set of dive gear (regulator's, computer, fins, suit, etc.) and travel amenities (clothing, toiletry kit, computer, etc.) easily for multi-day travel, even a week depending on how you pack... all in only one bag.

The Aeris Jetpack is ruggedly constructed from high-quality durable materials but weighs in at only 6.25 lbs. (2.84 kg) when empty. The backpack/BC combo weighs in at a meager 8.25 lbs. (3.75 kg) when empty! Fully packed with travel friendly dive gear stays under 30 lbs. (13.64 kg) with ample space for the rest of the amenities you'll need for a week of diving and traveling. The spacious 2,563 cubic inches (42 liters) and light semi-dry bag has compartments to enable ease of packing and use during travel making it the perfect day bag for boat dives or shore excursions during your trip.

The Aeris Jetpack BCD provides 30 lbs. (13.64 kg) of lift, has a 14 lbs. (6.36 kg) releasable weight system and optional cylinder band trim weight with a capacity of 10 lbs. (4.55 kg) of non-releasable weight. One size fits all with custom fit for everyone: Adjustable harness, cummerbund and lumbar support. The adjustable position weight pockets allow proper balance in the water. The BCD is rugged (not your typical travel materials) constructed with 1000-Denier Cordura, 420-Denier nylon urethane laminated bladder material and quick dry 800-Denier double coated nylon.

Although lightweight the BCD has fully padded shoulder straps, a sternum strap and waist strap. The sternum, waist and shoulder straps are fully adjustable and are equipped with squeeze-style side-release buckles. The right shoulder strap has a series of daisy-chain loops for accessory attachment. The air cell has elastic bungee straps that keep the back-inflation bladder low in profile and aid in rapped deflation.

Buoyancy control and trim while diving is easy with the Aeris versatile power inflator equipped with an internal pull dump cable attached to an overpressure/dump valve. An additional overpressure/dump valve, located on the lower right with pull dump cord allows easy trimming of buoyancy regardless of your diving position. The BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low-pressure quick-disconnect hose and owner's manual.

The Jetpack Backpack Bag has water resistant zippers for all compartments, hide away backpack straps, laptop sleeve with easy zippered access; full zipper opening main compartment provides easy access and two external zippered pockets for smart phone, wallet, and passport. Backpack bag is made with quick-dry 800-Denier double coated nylon. Backpack has external compression straps for cinching or expanding and padded back panel for comfort on the long haul. The backpacks adjustable shoulder straps are padded and come equipped with squeeze-style side-release buckles. The Aeris Jetpack represents a true solution for the adventure traveler.
