Used Oceanic Delta 5 eDX Yoke Regulator ~ Black

The new Delta 5 is the next step in a long line of remarkably reliable, durable and smoothly breathing regulators to carry that name. Sure, Oceanic gave it an updated look, but that's not all. Like the Delta's before it, the 5 comes standard with Oceanic's patented Dynamic Adjustment Technology, dive/pre-dive controls and a super comfortable orthodontic mouthpiece. Unlike its predecessors, the new Delta 5 has an all metal pneumatic valve, providing super smooth breathing performance in any condition. Oceanic has also added a heat exchanger, positioned on the hose connection to the 2'nd stage, to further increase it's already stellar cold water performance. Oceanic paired the Delta 5 with the new eDX. This top-of-the-line cold forged, over-balanced diaphragm first stage is environmentally sealed and comes with 4 low-pressure and 2 high-pressure ports. It also comes equipped with a heat exchanger for added cold water performance.

The eDX offers a balanced diaphragm design and is made of forged chromed marine brass. The balanced diaphragm, first stage regulator is inherently environmentally sealed. Water enters the main spring cavity and the pressure increase from the water is transmitted to the internal components by the impermeable diaphragm membrane. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the delicate internal parts are exposed-to-contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants can cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. A diaphragm first stage regulator requires less-maintenance then regulators that allow these contaminates to enter the internal mechanism.

In addition the eDX first stage regulator has a secondary diaphragm to completely seal-off the main spring cavity. A sealed balanced diaphragm design isolate the main spring cavities internal components from the environment. It also means the eDX is excellent for ice diving (it won't freeze up) or diving in waters filled with contaminants or sediment (it won't corrode).

The Delta 5 eDX Regulator is nitrox ready out of the box to 40%. The Delta 5 takes this comfort even further with an orthodontic mouthpiece designed to accommodate the natural overbite of the human jaw and 30" (76.2 cm) 3/8" threaded Maxflex hose that all produce minimal jaw fatigue no matter the length of the dive. The second stage is lightweight and has a 2.5" (6.35 cm) diameter front profile making it one of the most compact designs on the market. The second stage regulator has a dual adjustability with its dive/pre-dive venturi lever to help prevent regulator free-flow while entering the water through surf or jumping off the back of a boat. In addition the dynamic airflow adjustment knob allows the diver to fine tune the regulators breathing resistance during the dive for precise control of air flow to the second-stage regulator.
