I have had this computer now for a few years and love the display, what is does for me as an instructor and ADP diver with several nitrox mixes. I like the bungee mount to. I have for a long time despised with a passion the software. I do not want to go online looking for other divers logs or indeed have mine on there either. I also at times dive without the eon and cannot find a way to add a manual dive on my software?? The worst of all is that with DM3 you could add and see all the extra bits of info without all this Tag nonsense and its now difficult to use. In comparison to other software this is just pants. The computer however is great

After 15 dives in Honduras all I can say is you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a top of the line dive computer this is it. This computer will change how you dive, for the better of course. Amazingly easy to customize to your preferences with a computer and easy to use in the water. Yes its spendy, but once you try it you will know immediately why you paid as much as you did for it.

I love my new EON Steel. Easy to use, Easy to program. Nice bright screen that is easy to read. Provides lots of information at your fingers tips during the dive and in the logs after the dive. Feels a little big out of the water but you do not even notice once in the water. Hard to complain about it being large when you see the easy to read screen. This is the best Dive Computer I have owned in 20+ years of diving.

Suunto is a user-friendly product but in my opinion they should revise their algorithm lock in case of omitted decompression stop and recalculate a second acceptable solution rather than giving up on the divee

The Suunto Eon Steel is an excellent dive computer. It's easy to use and you have so many features that you can use as you progress in your diving. The visibility of the screen is clear and bright in the water. The Suunto Tank Pod connection (transmitter) sends a clear wireless tank pressure that allows you to view current tank pressure with just a glance at your wrist. I would definitely recommend this dive computer to anyone who's looking for one.

I'm a Master Instructor and consequently I dive a lot. This is the first dive computer I have come across that can keep up with my pace. It's durability is unmatched and it sports a decompression algorithm that keeps me safe without keeping me out of the water. It's a little thing but I especially love that the stopwatch function is accessible in dive mode. As an instructor, I often have to time skills and this is the first computer that has allowed me to do that while still being able to monitor my dive. I can't recommend this product enough to anyone who is an active diver!

In total it's very nice computer with large display, lots of functionalities, customizable displays and so on. Nevertheless, considering this as a technical diving feasible computer, there must be a way to use ingredients or different RGBM algorithm. Suunto Fused RGBM for maximizing dive time which is the used algorithm is totally misleading information. Previous Sunnto RGBM algorithms calculate longer dive times under equal other conditions.

Was it love at first sight? Definitely. Was the love gone after the first 5 dives? Almost. I had to get used to this heavy and big dive computer. We became friends again and the love returned and after 100 dives the dive shop informed me about the 1.4 upgrade. I loved it. The display is crisp and the brightness adjustments are awesome if you're nearing the age of 50. Just a day prior to dive vacation in Cozumel I updated to v1.6.5 as prominent mode looked promising. I felt like an inexperienced diver who's too old to operate a simple device as a dive computer. Gone are the clear indicators when deep stops or safety stops are required. Gone are the automatic countdown timers when you're in the stop zone. Where is my no-deco time in compass or pressure view? I thought it was a personal struggle and a matter of RTFM but I met an equally experienced diver with the EON core. He had no idea either. Back to old school watches to use as a timer.

I recently purchased this computer and found the online configuration very flexible and simple. The amount of information available and access is very good. I have only has 2 dives with it and I am really looking forward to future dives and data collection from those adventures. I purchased this model as it seemed stronger and more durable than others I looked at. At first it felt very large and bulky but once in the water, the size and ease of use with the large buttons and menu setup reinforced that the size it helpful.

This is definitely one of my better SCUBA diving purchases. The computer works flawlessly with its transmitter. I love that I can garner all my pertinent diving information (depth, deco time, air etc.) with a one to two second glance at the brilliant screen on my wrist. It has definitely made diving easier and safer for me. If you have the funds, I highly recommend it.

Best Dive Computer I have Owned!
By kjkmadison
I love my new EON Steel. Easy to use, Easy to program. Nice bright screen that is easy to read. Provides lots of information at your fingers tips during the dive and in the logs after the dive. Feels a little big out of the water but you do not even notice once in the water. Hard to complain about it being large when you see the easy to read screen. This is the best Dive Computer I have owned in 20+ years of diving.
Read all the important diving details at a glance from a clear, legible screen. Large numbers and texts with high contrast colors are easy to see even in murky waters or when diving at night time.
EON Core is ready out-of-the-box, but you can modify the features as you like to fit your own needs with the Suunto CustomDisplay™. Choose from different view styles and select the dive details you want to see. Updatable software makes EON Core a loyal diving partner for years to come.
The lightweight, compact composite case with an elastomer strap (or bungee) is comfortable on any size of a wrist. Press large buttons easily with or without gloves. Conveniently re-charge the battery through USB.
Connect wirelessly with up to 10 Suunto Tank PODs to display tank and gas information. Transfer your dives and change your settings in Suunto Movescount App by connecting easily over Bluetooth with a mobile device. Keep a diving diary and share your underwater adventures and pictures on Suunto Movescount.
The Suunto EON Steel Wrist Computer is the new standard for advanced/technical diving. The long-anticipated EON sets new standards in the diving world with its new brilliantly bright display, fully customizable interface, rechargeable battery and extremely rugged construction. The EON was designed for divers, by divers and will deliver well beyond your expectations.
The Suunto EON's main priority is diver control and usability. It all starts with full user customization. Suunto claims that this computer will grow with you as your diving and skills evolve. The Suunto EON custom display assures that. You can choose between classic and graphical viewing and define exactly what you want to be displayed all within 4 custom user displays. The EON is also setup to receive customizable add-on skins and comes with a wrist strap and bungee option for whatever works best for you. Within your custom-set interface you can cycle between features such as: multi-gas diving (up to 10 gases) with air/nitrox/trimix support, integrated tilt-compensated 3D compass, altitude adjustment, alarms/stops, decompression data, gauge/bottom timer mode, timer, depth alarms, and air integration options. Suunto updatable software will save you big bucks in the long run. Instead of buying model after model, year after year, you can download and update your EON with new software (such as closed-circuit rebreather). Suunto Dm5 software allows you to plan out your dives in advance and then seamlessly transfer your data to your computer. The easy to use 3-button interface is accessible even with the thickest cold water diving gloves. Additionally, the brilliantly bright Brightsee display that can be read at any angle plus the simple 3-button interface makes this computer incredibly simple and usable at any level of diving for new and advanced users.
The EONs construction is no less impressive. The housing makes use of extremely rugged reinforced composite with over 50% of that being strong glass fiber. The bezel is constructed with brushed stainless steel that will handle years of abuse. Plus the highly durable and resistant Xensation glass screen will withstand rugged use time after time. The EON is guaranteed to 492' (150 meters), has an operational temperature range of +32° F - +104° F (0° C - +40° C) and has been tested and tested again for all types of diving. Additionally, the new rechargeable battery will last 20-40 hours of dive time on a full charge and can be charged when connected to a computer or with a Suunto charger.
The Suunto EON Steel is quite literally the greatest dive computer available today. It is extremely versatile, technologically advanced, user friendly, fully customizable, rugged, and usable by any level of diver in any diving situation. The EON is an investment that will pay you back again and again with its updatable software and durable construction. Make the switch to one of the most advanced computers on the market today. Computer comes with a USB cable, quick guide, protective boot, display scratch guards, bungee adapter cord and owner's manual.
