Just what I wanted
Daughter and granddaughters went out just about every day we were on vacation, now they want to use it on a small lake near home. May have to get another one!!

the sevylor skeg did a great job!
it was the first time I own a kayak. So i'm pretty new at this. But skeg I had no trouble going thru the water or navigating the kayak

Easy to install
It fits on the back of my kayak. Acts like a rudder. It is easy to put on. Can't find anything wrong with it. actually better than I thought it would be.

Totally worth it
The skeg makes a big difference. Instead of going around in circles I now go ahead without effort. Totally worth buying.

Make my Tahiti easy to manage!
The first time I took my Tahiti kayak out in the water, it was without the Skeg. I had a very frustrating, stressful experience. I couldn't keep the kayak moving in a straight line, much less maneuver around objects. Before giving up on the kayak, I purchased the Skeg and took the kayak back out. I was pleasantly surprised at what a difference the Skeg made to my kayaking experience. The kayak was easy to maneuver, both straight and on turns. My wife and I rode on a river both with against the current with ease. I can't wait to get back out on the water!!

Sevylor skeg
I've only used the skeg once so far, but it definitely seems to improve directional stability; without it the kayak would fishtail incessantly.
My only objection was the complete lack of installation instructions from Sevylor. I had to call the company and the support person emailed me good detailed photos. I had no idea what the purpose of the sharp projection on the skeg was. To install the projection into the fitting on the stern of the craft, the vinyl had to be scrunched quite a bit, but it does attach acceptably. Just remember, you may inlate the side chambers, but do not inflate the floor before attempting to install.

No more running around in circles!
Works great! Before adding the skeg, it was hard to keep my kayak tracking a straight line in slow moving waters. With the skeg, it tracks straight and true. Only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.
One note-- install it before the kayak is inflated. And figure out which end is front before installation.

Makes an ok kayak much better.
This item should be included with the purchase of the Sevylor inflatable kayaks. It turns the kayak from a water toy for children to a real managlable Kayak that can take you places. Without the skeg, the you can not take the kayak seriously. Well worth the money.

An inexpensive necessity!
Based upon the low price and reviews I had read, I knew the skeg was a must-have. Installed easily, although I did have a bit of trouble keeping it straight (to be fair, I have only used the skeg once). This thing is tough; we scraped it across all kinds of rocks in a low creek bed and very few, small scratches (it appears to be made from glass-filled nylon or similar polymer). A plus - in low water it signals that it is time to get out and portage before scraping your kayak bottom.
