Osprey Transporter 95 Travel Duffel Bag

Very, very solid and functional bags. I started with the 130L to be able to check protect my full backpack as checked baggage for airline travel. It worked great for that (with space for lots of other stuff), but it was too big for most uses, so I got the 95L, which is just right for winter and mountaineering trips. Plenty of space for bulky clothes, and rugged enough for ice axe, crampons, etc. My excuse for getting the 65L was that it was just right for weekend trips. I may have a problem, though. At this point, I sneak the new one into the house and hope my wife doesn't see them all together. As an extra plus, the bags come in their own shipping/storage bag with mesh sides that are also very durable and great for sorting and storing camping, climbing and other outdoor gear when it is not in use. It is great bonus. All in all, very happy with these.

I bought this bag for a 8 day trip in Great Britain. I knew I was going to be on doing some walking and traveling on planes and trains and wanted something I didn't have to wheel around. This bag was the perfect size and fit all the gear and clothing that I was going to need for each different activity I would be doing. I got the teal color and love it. Nice durable bag that's also lightweight. Only criticism I have is that the interior mesh pocket (the only pocket on the bag) should be on the top side of the bag, not the bottom since I load the bag from the bottom not the top when using the shoulder straps.

I love the capacity the fact I can carry it on my back and how durable and well made it is. I purchased the keystone grey color and love it! The 95 liter is perfect for longer trips or weekend trips that require heavy winter clothing. The only thing I wish came with the larger duffles was a single shoulder strap! I had to buy one separately which wasn't bad except Osprey only has one color and it sort of clashes.

I spent a couple of weeks touring through Europe this summer on what could be described as record breaking heat wave. Visited family in three countries with lots of airplane, train, and metro travel. I had this pack loaded to the max for the entire trip and was at the maximum weight allowed per bag for most of the travel. I never once felt like my gear was in jeapardy of falling out or being stolen, although a pick pocketer tried to get my wallet from my pants and failed. The only one wish I had is that there was a waist belt to help take the load from the shoulders and transfer it to the hips.

I'm an aerialist/dancer who does photoshoots outdoors. I use this for my multi week, multi-purpose "Out West Trips". It easily holds all my car camping gear (including a 5lb 5oz 2pr tent), rigging equipment (ropes, spansets, slings, hardware, etc), costumes/fabric, hiking clothes, city clothes, and presents for city friends. Even with all that there's still some extra space. It's really exactly what I expected and wanted. A super durable duffel with one main large compartment that shows everything when I open it allowing for really easy access to everything. The stowaway shoulder straps are a god send. I love them. They're comfortable for being simple straps and its easy to take them out and clip them in. I have no problem with the placement of the buckles and zipper against my back. The only two things I'd like to see different are: 1) A basic stowaway waist belt. 95L of gear gets really heavy on the shoulders. 2) For the internal mesh zippered pocket to be on the other side of the main compartment. There's a little bit more depth on the side in on and it's a little tricky and a mild annoyance reaching your hand in that deep to try to get something from inside the pocket. The bag is so useful that I plan to get the 60L for trips where I'm going snorkeling/diving and for kayak camping trips.

I love everything about this bag except having to fend off my son who always wants to "borrow" it. It's not something I'd want to carry on a multi-mile backpacking trip, but for packing in and out less than a mile, it's certainly nice. And I think it will be perfect for canoe treks.
