I love Mares products...unfortunately this one doesn't cut the grade. I do not like the attachment to the mask and was not impressed with the splash guard. Look for other products that do better in this design area.

I had a dry snorkel which was heavy and more than necessary for scuba diving. This is the perfect upgrade. The only slight con is the attachment to the mask strap. It is almost too adjustable and allows the mouthpiece to drift out of optimal position for quick access. It is quite easy to attach and detach quickly, but of you plan to use it regularly on the surface you may want to swap out the mask attachment piece with a rubber loop.

I tried three other snorkels before this one. This snorkel has a soft, comfortable mouthpiece that easily moves out of the way while scuba diving. I want to do more snorkeling just so I can use it.

I initially got this snorkel for my wife because of the great reviews. When my TUSA snorkel and her MARES snorkel arrived I looked at the mouthpieces and thought 'this is just wrong'. This snorkel has a HUGE looking, almost intimidating, mouthpiece. And quite a large purge area as well (I like my gear super streamlined). That said, this snorkel is so comfortable and user friendly that I gifted it to myself (thanks wife!). Things I like: large bore = more air and after using a regulator this feels very natural, mouthpiece can be adjusted for either side of your mask (I use an inflator/regulator for a secondary and I prefer to have the snorkel on the right side), the mask clasp isn't the best but it moves up and down and swivels providing a super adjustable fit, lastly the flex tubing is SUPER flexible and with the large mouthpiece there is 0 jaw fatigue. The only thing I don't like is that it floods easier than others I have tried (I could have just been lazy from diving for two days).

I purchased this before a recent dive vacation to Bonaire and used it while snorkeling and when swimming back to shore after a dive. It is comfortable and doesn't flood. I'm so glad I made this purchase. I've also noticed that the mouthpiece isn't huge like a lot of other snorkels that I've tried to use. You've heard the expression that "third times a charm?" This is the third snorkel that I've purchased in the last year and I think I have finally found a winner. The only upsetting thing about it is that I returned from vacation and went on-line to purchase another like this for my daughter and the price dropped after I made my purchase. Oh well - my timing was just off but at least I got a good snorkel FINALLY!

My second time buying this snorkel. First one magically disappeared. Bought it again because it is a nice looking, comfortable, easy to clear snorkel and is not super expensive. I also really like the snorkel holder. It holds the snorkel securely, but also lets you slide the snorkel out easily to put your mask back in the box.

I bought this snorkel to use in Roatan in a couple of weeks. I tested it out in the pool during a scuba class and at the lake and it worked great. Though I haven't had a chance to fully test the splash guard yet, the purge valve is convenient and the mouthpiece is comfortable. Got it for a great deal and would definitely recommend it.

I bought my other snorkel in my enthousiasm of getting certified. It was a piece of junk. It was one of those self sealing ones. Do yourself a favor and get something like this. It's simple and it works. That being said I haven't tried it out in the ocean yet but it works great in the pool.

I will review it after I return from my next snorkeling trip. The price was too good and since my old fins fell apart with dry rot could my snorkel be far behind? The technology has changed so much since I bought my old equipment that I am eager to try my recent LeisurePro purchases.

This is an excellent and well built product. I don't have leaks even when i do skin diving in the pool or have to do 800M timed swim in the pool. I highly recommend this product to anyone. My IST purge snorkel leaked and i was never comfortable with it

This is a great semi-dry snorkel. It breathes very smoothly with no turbulence or chuffing even when breathing hard, unlike older designs of splash-guarded snorkels. Keeps most splashes/spray/cresting waves out, easy to purge and comfortable mouthpiece fit for both my girlfriend and me. Snorkel keeper-clip is so-so for ease of attachment but never had a problem once it was on. When on sale, a fantastic value.

I use my equipment for recreational purposes mostly. They have been selected on the basis of weight and flexibility. I can carry all of my equipment in a carry on bag and I still have 95% of the space available for storage. Nothing like your own stuff for places like Fiji, Galapagos or Hawaii.
