Shopper : is the hood detachable?GEORGE H : No. (I've owned 5-6 of these in 20 years and only used the hood maybe 4 times..it's thin)L M : I might have bought this item long ago and don't have a vivid recollection of it but the photo looks quite familiar and I do think it has a hidden hoodie in the collar and I don't think it is removable. I think it is a very lightweight hood that is not even of the same material as the rest of the vest. I took mine on a trip to France and loved it. I'm taking a cruise next year and planning on taking it with me. The only negative is that doesn't breathe real well. I used this vest for over two weeks in Paris and London last spring and it was invaluable! It held up very well in all types of weather and carried all my necessary items securely. As for pockets; outside it has 3 velcro pockets, three zipper pockets, and two side pockets. Inside there are two small pockets; one on each side with velcro closure. I would give the vest 5 stars out 5 since it was exactly as advertised for me. I purchased the khaki color and it was the perfect color for me. Definitely part of my travel wardrobe from now on! TimJOHN S : Unfortunately, I wore it only briefly a couple years ago. It's put away somewhere in an off-season tote box, so I can't count the pockets. I didn't use it for travel, but I found the pockets inconvenient. Also, my wife complained about how I looked in it. If I were to buy another such vest, I would have to try it on before buying.
vince s : based on your size chart is the neck size for example 1/2 of the regular sized neck?SANDY J : I'm really sorry but I don't understand the question. The vest seemed to be sized quite normally. The neck size was certainly not half of the normal neck size.GARY R : i have a 2XL vest and the neck size is perfect. i normally wear a 17/17-1/2 shirt is this is at least that size. it's very comfortable. hope this helps

You get what you pay for.

The chest pockets stick out. The Velcro on the sides that is supposed to adjust the size has one attachment point, making it completely worthless. No adjustment can be made, only fastened or unfastened, which is only a visual change.

It fits its purpose

Wife will use it when we go to Las Vegas. No need to carry her purse. Lots of pockets for money, tissue, pen, player's card, snacks, cell phone, etc.

A great vest

Used for a windbreak-cartridge holder for summer camping,hiking and shooting.Exactly what i had hoped for.

Searched for a long time for this one!

Better by far than the backpack I used to carry, and the butt bag before that. Stylish,comfartable and pockets to carry all that stuff that you used to stuff in your pockets with room to spare.

Just your Typical Ranger vest...

This is your Typical Ranger vest with none of the added features described in "features". "Adjustable side tabs" are not adjustable, there should be another few inches of velcro tab. Sadly, there is NO "Large inside zip pocket for maps & important documents" just the typical 2 small velcro tab inside pockets. Unless the whole vest is water resistant, there is NO special "Velcro closure water-resistant pocket" NO special "Pen & flashlight pockets"

Great for Dive Travel

Wish I had owned this hooded vest when in the Caribbean where the winds and weather were quite cold. Also would have not had to pay extra for overweight gear bag if I had worn this vest with the many pockets.
