KEVIN C : I’m building a wing and backplate with a Hollis SS backplate do I need this to mount my tank, or do I just need two tank straps to mount to the backplate? Thank you for the help.JOE S : you do not need a Single Tank Mounting Adapter for a wing and backplate. Two cam bands will work as long as the backplate and wing have the cam slots in them. The S38LX comes with a roll pad to limit the movement of the tank once it is secured with the cam bands. HOWEVER, this Single Tank Mounting Adapter will add stability to the system and you will find that it feels more secure than the roll pad.

The reason is because Hollis offers a delrin version as well, which are slightly lighter for travel.Gustavo C : Hi Mark. This is my answer to you. The set comes as shown in the picture. The bands are designed to be inserted through the holes made in the single cylinder mounting plate. Then the mounting plate is attached to the backplate with the provided bolts. Hi, Sean The SMS100 was designed with primary application of sidemount. Mounting a tank to the rear of the harness will be secure, however when compared to a traditional BCD slightly loose. It is only recommended using the supplied cam bands, we do not recommend using a single tank adapter in this case as the support will be much less. If your goal is to use a tank and the tank feels wobbly on the rear, have you considered diving one tank on the side? This is very common as well. Thanks, Nick Hollis Hollis Gear

About Hollis SS Single Cylinder Mounting Plate w/Bolts & Cam Band

The single 316-grade stainless steel cylinder mounting plate allows you to convert your twin cylinder back plate system (see SKU's: HLSABP and HLSSBP) to a single cylinder system when larger gas supplies are not required. Easy to install, comes equipped with mounting bolts and washers. The mounting bolts have square shanks for retention ease and butterfly nuts for quick assembly. Also included are 2-stainless-steel cam bands to provide more stability of single cylinder.

The Hollis stainless-steel cam band assembly is constructed from 2" (5 cm) wide durable nylon webbing with a box stitched stainless-steel cam buckle for extra strength. Cam bands come with a non-slip rubber pads to prevent cylinder slippage.
