I've had this light for a couple of weeks now and used it a very few time, it works perfect as a flash or floodlight and the main lamp lights up a room. I have not tried powering it with the solar panel, so I don't know if that actually works. But overall the quality is great.

I actually have 3 of them and will get another 2! I keep them in different places as its the best combination for an emergency light and a power bank. On top you have the option of solar charging. It's versatile and very efficient especially at this price there is no comparison! Build quality is excellent and functionality is remarkable ??

I'd like to start by saying, I Love, Love, Love your brand. I have been buying your products for decades. In fact I have 2 prior versions of the torch flashlight. I live in So Cal and recently (ongoing) we have had a lot of use for solar or alternate methods of charging. This is where my goal zero products came in handy. The reason I am giving only a 3-star rating is this, my lighthouse 600, crush lights and both torchlights worked perfect. Here is where the improvement comes in. Both versions of torchlights have some rubber. The rubber has become gooey and leaves your hands sticky. As I mentioned earlier, I live in So Cal and we are experiencing lots of damage including power failure due to the wildfires. I started looking at purchasing some new torch flashlights and noticed the current version no longer has the 3rd source to charge, the hand crank. I feel that shortsighted. During the week I had no power this feature was key during the night. This is obviously my opinion, but I think the hand crank feature is something that you should seriously revisit not just for the flashlight for other items as well. I use this so often. The hand crank feature is what made me choose to buy the light house lantern instead of another brand. Thanks for your consideration.

I owned an older version of this model and was surprised that the original version had an attachment to generate battery power and the charging cable was attached to the older model.

I absolutely love this newer torch light. It's so nice. I owned the older version of this torch light and loved it too. But there were some things that I didn't like about it. But this newer one, Goal Zero fixed all of the things that I didn't like on the older model and now I love the newer one even more! Thanks so much Goal Zero for listening to your customers. Bravo! Thank you!

We had a Goal Zero Torch 250 for over 10 years and it still works great. Based on our experience with the last generation of this product we were excited to get the Torch 500. Based on 3 months of use - the T-500 appears to be a great. I hope we don't have the problems noted by other reviewers about degradation of the plastic on the Torch. Time will tell. It would be a shame if a poor choice was made by GZ for the materials that went into this. If our Torch 500 has problems - we'll update this. Otherwise we're excited to have it.

This is the second Torch 500 I have purchased. I've had my first one for over a year and saw it on sale, so I purchased a second one. These are very handy to keep around the house or in your vehicle. Charges by USB or the sun.

I really like the update I've had all the torch lights and this is the most refined by far but 1 feature I found useful was the red lights on the previous iteration other wise this is perfect more compact then previous models

I bought this about a month ago and I'm happy with it. I have it in my emergency bag, but have already found others used for it. Charges in the sun ok, gets hot and stops until it cools (as designed). The flashlight/floods graduation options are neat. And as a backup battery for my cell, it's already paid for itself. My wife thought it was too big for her purse, but I use it more and love it.

I have only used this a few times so far so I don't know how well it charges or holds up, but so far I am very pleased with its brightness. Both the flashlight and the long light have 3 brightness settings to accommodate a variety of situations. I love that it has hooks for hanging horizontally or vertically. The power buttons are small and look exactly alike, so you really have to pay attention to their placement to get the correct one the first time.

I really like this flashlight a lot, but I have 2, and both have the same problem. The battery indicator light always shows 4 dots indicating full charge regardless of how much charge is actually left. Only if I plug it into charge will it then reveal what its true remaining capacity is which is a real drag. Otherwise it's a great camping light or something to have for blackouts. I really appreciate the color temp. Many cheap lights are a cool white but goal zero took the extra care to make it a nice warm white.

Owned for a six months now, awesome for clipping to a pop up gazebo which we use while camping, used it hiking in huts and for general uses around the house, handy to have a small mobile flood light. criticisms: the buttons for the two lights are too similar and I turn on the wrong light most of the time which is annoying. Solar charging takes forever to get it to fully charged. Would love a lite weight version with bigger battery?dreams are free!

I love how this light tries to be everything for every job, it is well-built and it does a fairly good job at it. The lights are clean, even and powerful, free of artifacts. I haven't tested its solar recharging capabilities nor it's waterproofing. I use it as a task light in my garage which doesn't have electrical outlets. Two drawbacks, however: 1 It is not very ergonomic at all, with its odd shape, and 2) Its battery life is pretty disappointing. I charge it straight from my Yeti 500X and it drains a fair bit of it only to last a few hours and die.

For folks who think that this is only excellent for outdoor and camping use - the Torch 500 has been a valuable tool in my garage. In my work bench or under the hood of my car, this torch LED light has done an amazing job keeping me lighted in times when I need some extra light on challenging lighting conditions. Highly recommended!!!

This light is very good. I love the option to have a spot or flood in 3 different levels of brightness. I especially enjoy the fact that I can charge it via the solar panel on it or by plugging it into any USB port. Also an added bonus that you can charge certain devices with the flashlight also. The battery seems to last a pretty long time as well. We like having it at home so much we are probably going to buy another one just like it.
