The next generation of Daiwa's ever popular BG spinning reel series just got leaner and meaner. This complete series ranges from ultralight freshwater actions to heavy big game saltwater models. Daiwa Black Gold (BG) is equipped with a "Hard Bodyz" Body & Side Cover machined aluminum body and body cover providing strength and internal part stability. To increase the strength in the form of corrosion and scratch resistance, Daiwa black anodized the body and body cover. The anodization process allows for better adhesion to the aluminum and will not chip or peal like a painted surface, extending the brilliant look of the BG spinning series.

Digi-Gear Digital gear design. Daiwa BG spinning series have integrated the largest drive gear in the history of Daiwa spinning reels. The benefit to having this oversized gear increases gear-tooth contact points, this provides smoother and extended gear life as well as more power and increased torque. Daiwa's screw-in-machined aluminum handle design provides zero movement or play between the main gear and handle arm. This lack of movement offers the angler both confidence and control when rotating the handle. The Air Rotor weighs up to 15% less than ordinary rotor designs. Its unique shape reduces unnecessary weight while distributing stress more evenly throughout the rotor for maximum strength.

The ABS braided line ready spool's maximized core diameter and reversed taper mean 100% useable line. No "dead" line buried in a deep core. You can fill it with line right up to the edge of the spool lip without fear of tangles. ABS cause less casting friction for longer and easier casting. The huge spool diameter line flow freely in larger coils and produces less line memory coil. Smaller spool diameter means line flows in tighter coils as well. Waterproof drag system, carbon ATD, manual return bail, infinite dual anti-reverse system and 6 stainless steel ball bearings and 1 roller bearing design makes this one sought after reel for the serious angler. Reel is available in four models depending on your line weight requirements.

The first model is for 280 yds. (256 meters) of line with a line test of 17 lbs. (7.7 kg), has a gear ratio of 5.7:1, with a retrieve rate of 43.1" (109.5 cm), a maximum drag of 22 lbs. (10 kg) and weighs 22 oz. (623.7 g). The second model is for 380 yds. (347.5 meters) of line with a line test of 17 lbs. (7.7 kg), has a gear ratio of 5.7:1, with a retrieve rate of 47.4" (120.4 cm), a maximum drag of 22 lbs. (10 kg) and weighs 22.6 oz. (640.7 g). The third model is for 310 yds. (283.5 meters) of line with a line test of 25 lbs. (4.54 kg), has a gear ratio of 5.3:1, with a retrieve rate of 48.7" (123.7 cm), a maximum drag of 33 lbs. (15 kg) and weighs 29.5 oz. (836.3 g). The fourth model is for 440 yds. (402.34 meters) of line with a line test of 25 lbs. (11.34 kg), has a gear ratio of 5.3:1, with a retrieve rate of 48.7" (123.7 cm), a maximum drag of 33 lbs. (15 kg) and weighs 30 oz. (850.5 g). This reel provides medium heavy to extra heavy action in salt water. Reel comes with an owner's manual.
