Nice notebook!

I use this notebook for reef surveys, deep diving, dive site documention and to assist me in teaching scuba classes. First off, it is nicely made. Not only does it have a clean profile but it looks very sharp! High quality materials and convinient pockets. The window pocket on the outside is perfect for deco tables, maps and/or dive plans and there are quite a few waterproof pages inside that are great for reef surveys, mapping and other extensive note collecting. Because I dive thick cold water gloves, I had to replace the pencil with a thicker Super Pencil. I also added a couple of elastic straps that allow me to mount the notebook to my forearm. Overall, I'm very happy with this notebook!

Communicating properly underwater can be important depending on the tasks to be performed when diving. Recreational diving in most cases will be fine with traditional hand signals taught in an open water class. Technical, photographic and research diving may require more. To meet these needs, requires the proper communication devices on hand underwater. The Dive Rite Dive Writes Notebook with Cover combines Dive Rite's 28 waterproof page notebook and graphite pencil with a ballistic nylon notebook cover. Inside the notebook cover are 3 non-slip pencil sleeves and a non-slip pocket for a survey compass. Along the spine are four daisy chain loops for additional accessory attachment points. The back-cover pocket is clear to allow easy visibility of dive tables or check lists. Contents of the notebook are kept secure by a hook and loop flap on the notebook cover. Binder is constructed with strong and durable 1680-denier ballistic nylon and has a D-ring for attachment to gear. The notebook measures (W x L) 5.5 x 7.5" (14 x 22cm), weighs 8.2 oz (232.5g) and is proudly made in the USA.
