It serves it's purpose but certainly isn't elegant. The pockets are huge which is nice and the absence of any "weight system" is just what I was looking for. If that is the kind of thing you are looking for, I'd recommend it. It should hold up very well as the construction is solid.

Not user friendly

It took a long time to get used to this BC, it is difficult to adjust the buoyancy. I was constantly adding and dumping air. I will go back to my old orange jacket.

Everything I needed on a bcd

Here?s the deal: I wanted something reliable fir my first bcd ever. I wanted basic but good. I got basic but good. Here?s my thought: every shop I?ve been to in the world stocks this bcd for rentals that?s good sign that this was reliable and durable.

Cressi BCD recommendation

Great starter BCD

Great for Pool Use

I purchased this to use while teaching in the pool. Since chlorine kills just about any BC, we were looking for something on the low end knowing its days would be limited. For the price, this is a great BC. One thing to keep in mind, it does not have integrated weights so you will need to wear a traditional weight belt. Otherwise, fit is good and it is a good pool or starter BC.

Cressi Sub BCD

I went diving with the Cressi Sub BCD on the 4th of July at the Chesapeake Light Tower spear fishing. It performed very well. It is tough,rugged, functional and easy to operate. Inexpensive and highly recommended. ??

tough to beat

Does exactly what it should: supports the tank and provides floation. Nothing sexy here. Good pockets and sufficent rings to hang your other toys on. Get the 'Pro' if you want W/I. So far I've used it on six dives and everything has worked perfectly. Word to the wise: There's not a lot of adjustablity in the waist area. So get the right size. At 6'1''/185, the (L) is a little loose in the waist for me. The (M) would have probably been a better fit.

Great Product for a Great Price

I purchased this BCD last year and just got a chance to try it out this week. You should be aware that these run large for the size and as a 5'8 and 150lb guy the small was a perfect fit, if maybe slightly snug, but I would much prefer that over too loose, not to mention you need hip room for a weight belt as this does not have W/I. If you're looking for a durable, strong and almost bulletproof BCD jacket than the Start is what you are looking for. Constructed from extremely Strong 500 and 1000-Denier Cordura, with excellent buoyancy, even on smaller sizes the Start full jacket BCD fits the bill. Designed with the demanding use of dive training and rental facilities in mind this BCD will give the sport diver years of dependable use.

The BCD has three over-pressure relief/dump valves with two located on the left and right shoulders and a third lower valve on the rear right of the air cell. All three can be manually dumped two with pull cords and the other with the power inflator mechanism. There are two plastic D-rings and two additional snap hooks for attachment of instruments and accessories. If used at dive facilities a size indicator is highly visible on the right shoulder.

BCD has two large accessory storage pockets with hook and loop closures, and the adjustable sternum straps along with both torso adjustment and waist straps are equipped with "squeeze-style" side-release buckles for easy donning and doffing The waist strap/cummerbund assembly is independently suspended from the air cell allowing the air cell to inflate away from the diver preventing the "squeeze-effect" when inflated. The backpack is rigid for support and stability of the cylinder yet is fully padded for comfort. The Cressi Start BCD come with a 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect low-pressure hose and owner's manual.
