In the world of scuba diving, nothing exemplifies freedom of movement better than the feeling you get wearing minimal thermal protections and a bulk-free, back-flotation BC while cruising the crystalline waters of the tropics. Especially if it's a back-flotation BC built specifically for that purpose. Like the Litehawk. The Litehawk is the ultimate back-flotation travel BC. Its lightweight, ultra-slimmed-down design and soft, flexible backpack lays flat and compact for packing. The adjustable belt-style waist strap with nylon buckle can be cinched up snug, and the quick-release rotating shoulder buckles that let you route the straps under your arms, plus the two-position sternum strap, hug your body like the BC was custom-made for you.  But you can't fully appreciate the Litehawk until you get it in the water. With the tank secured by a lower primary tank band, an upper support strap and an adjustable yoke strap, the entire system locks in, ensuring a controlled, stable ride at depth. The BC carries no inherent buoyancy so only minimal ballast weight is required. Consequently, the two non-ditching pockets can be used to carry accessories. Optional quick-release weight pockets are also available, and four aluminum D-rings provide convenient clip-on points for additional gear. The Litehawk provides a streamlined package that travels easy and delivers a comfortable, stable ride at depth, making it well-suited for both tropical and temperate water travel diving.  Compact, lightweight design with soft backpack makes it perfect for dive travel. Constructed of 420-Denier nylon for lightweight and long-lasting durability. Low-profile, progressively-shaped rear air cell increases range of motion while decreasing drag. Elastic cords rein in the air cell when partially inflated and help control deflation. Clutter-free ergonomic harness eliminates bulk and enhances freedom of movement. Multiple band and strap system keeps tank secure and increases stability at depth. Three-dump deflation system lets you to dump air from a variety of underwater positions. Adjustable belt-style waist strap with nylon buckle offers a snug fit for any body shape. Rotating quick-release shoulder buckles allow you to optimize the routing of your shoulder straps to maximize fit. Two basic accessory pockets are included. Optional weight pockets are available. Two rear trim pouches allow you to achieve a well-balanced swimming position. Four aluminum D-rings provide convenient clip-on points for additional gear. Available in multiple sizes with 29.2 lbs. (13.2kg) of lift capacity. BCD weighs between 4.8 and 5 lbs. (2.2 to 2.3kg) depending on sizes. BCD includes owner manuals.  BCD comes equipped with Scubapro's AIR2 Breathable Inflator. When you took dive lessons you learned to perform specific skills to make you safe and comfortable underwater and at the surface. One of those skills was buoyancy control. Once you start diving for fun you use your buoyancy control device constantly throughout the dive. Your octopus or alternate air source devise on the other hand is never used unless there is an emergency out-of-air situation. Reacting properly in an out of air situation can make the difference between an eventful dive and a tragedy. If your alternate air source and your BCD inflator device are one and the same, you will always know where to find it in an emergency. AIR2 is more than a simple inflator. Its components design takes advantage from the best regulator technology to guarantee maximum efficiency and reliability. As an inflator AIR2 provides perfect pressure control for a great buoyancy management. Ergonomic shape makes it easy-to-handle in any circumstances and it can be emptied by simply pressing the exhaust button.  AIR2's air balanced power inflator provides smooth and reliable inflation at all tank pressures. Single hose configuration eliminates the need for a separate alternate air source. Fixed VIVA flow vane for safe and uncomplicated use one-hand operation for instinctive and simple operation the self-flushing mechanism requires just one push on the purge to clear away all dirt. The AIR2 uses a classic downstream valve for less maintenance and reliability. The housing is a precision molded carbon fiber and techno-polymer impact resistant design that weighs 6.7 oz (190g). The AIR2 comes with a 3/8" threaded 27.56" (70 cm) high-flow low-pressure hose.

This BCD has been my go-to for years. It's tough and has never failed me (I've had it for 8 years), no matter the dive. I've taken it through all kinds of conditions, and it's held up great. It's also super easy to travel with. Lightweight and packs down small, so I don't have to worry about it taking up too much space. If you're looking for something durable, reliable, and affordable, this BC is a no-brainer.

Litehawk BCD

I always thought my 10 year old jacket style BCD was good enough.  UNTIL I tried the ScubaPro Litehawk BCD at a demo day.  It just felt better.  Fit was more adjustable and trim was easy to dial in.  When I took it on our next dive trip to Roatan, I could feel the comfort and lack of drag.  Air consumption was noticeably better (Actual Mileage May Vary).  I added the quick release weight pockets, so gave up the small storage pockets.  I had to adjust what I would attach/store in/on my old BCD, so if you are used to attaching lots of stuff to a BCD this may not be for you.  I had to adjust how I balance on the surface after inflation, but wasn?t too bad.  I really like it.

Could not believe difference compared to my old jacket BCD

I have used this on 100's of dives now mainly for tropical diving. It is great to pack and easy on weight restrictions. Very comfortable and functions great as all Scubapro products. Shooting photo/ videos on my dives, I find this BC allows great buoyancy control and streamlining.

Ok so, I said I love it and I do, although I haven't been diving with it yet. I did think it would be a little lighter than it is but that's ok. I also wish there were more accessories that I could buy to go with it. All the other BC's I've seen, including other ScubaPro BC, has a variety of accessories that can be added. The only accessory I can find for this one is integrated weights, which I don't want. I did however, want a pocket that's a little bigger than the ones on here. I turned these upside down and will use them as dump able weight pockets. I just wanted one a little bigger also to carry my camera in but I can't even find an aftermarket one for that. That's my only complaint, other than that it's ok..
I will say that the customer service representative (Richelle) was amazing and I'd recommend her to anyone, to deal with any problem..

It's ok

This is a very compact light weight bcd. Now for the down side. the Bladder is awkward and distributes the air very different from other back inflates Ive used. It makes me feel like a turtle flipped onto my back, Makes subtle movements in confined spaces difficult. Super low cylinder band, a scuba pro brand standard for some reason, makes storing in tank holds on boats very difficult. if you are using the pockets for weight then there is NO storage room for anything else. When using separate trim pockets if make sure to move the pockets forward on the belt or else you will never be able to open and close the clasp, with one hand its almost impossible. Not enough places for d-rings or clips. And if you are slim waisted be prepared to rig a crotch strap so that the BCD doesn't slip around on your torso. 

All in all maybe its OK for occasional recreational divers that are constantly traveling but for continued use its not worth the hassle. By the time you add: trim pockets, storage pockets, crotch strap, clips and rings for gauges. It's just as bulky as any jacket style on the market. 

I also contacted Leisure pro about returning it and got no reply.

Great travel BC

I bought this couple of week ago from a dive shop in Malaysia via online. I didn't get to try it on beforehand because there was no stock at the stores I went. 

I spoke to the dive shop owner whose also an avid diver, he advised me this model was better than Hydros LTS and Aqualung Zuma which I was eyeing for at that moment. I told him that I was a petite asian woman. I told him my height which was shorter than 150cm. He still believed that Scubapro Litehawk a better choice. So I took his words for it and bought the model. Yes, without seeing or fitting. 

Turn out, it wasn't for a small build woman even with the smallest of the size available. The chest strap, sit right on the breast. And definitely not comfortable. And with the weight of the tank, it would surely make wearing it more discomfort, perhaps painful. The features were great nonetheless, dry faster and long lasting. 

It was good for men no doubt. Not sure why, I couldn't attach my photo.

When weight matters (as in traveling), this is a great BC to take.  It weighs only 5 pounds when dry and acts more like a wing-style BC because all of its flotation is in the back, completely unrestricting your front.  I added a trim pocket to each side of each of the two straps and that allows me to dial in the trim perfectly -- no matter what size tank is available and what personal gear is attached to my BC for a given dive.  My only gripe is that the D-rings are about 1-inch instead of the standard 2-inches, which make them difficult to feel for and clip items back on to during a dive.  to get around this challenge, I added a crotch strap of 1-inch webbing with its own 1-inch D-ring with a 5-inch stainless steel carabiner clipped through the D-ring.  That way, in a pinch I can bolt snap anything to the carabiner and move on.

Great BC for Travel

Very well made. Looking forward to not having  to rent gear when I travel. Fit is very similar to my Halcyon backplate ( I don't side mount....yet). Would buy again.

Exactly what I expected.

All sizes of this BC are the same (look at the lift) except the strap lengths.  When mine arrived the 'bag part' of the shoulder straps ended above my collar bones and the old "slide on" weight pockets would have been better than the newer attached ones which cannot be mounted upside down which i would have preferred.

Great BC for a small person

I purchased this for travel, but it has turned into my favorite BCD!!

Light weight with great features and flexibility.

I really like this BC. It's light and feels more like an old-fashioned backpack like I learned on back in the '60s. It's almost like not wearing a bc at all. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, minimalist back-inflate BC.

Great lightweight BC

Ordered the older model, LP upgraded to current model at no extra charge :)   10 dives so far on this BC. The good:  Fit is awesome, almost forgot I had on under water.  Love the 2-in belt versus a cumber bund.  On the surface, there was a tendency to roll to the side, but nothing major. The not so good: The weight/utility pockets.  If they were meant as utility pockets then they are too far back to open/close underwater.  As weight pockets, you can 5 or 6 lb max in each one, and I question how long they will hold up.  I put 4lb in each side picket and 2lb in each rear pocket located near the tank straps (nice feature).  I did purchase the add-on pockets by Scuba Pro, but returned them....they were huge.  Who really needs to carry 20lb of weight in a BC this light duty?  If Scuba Pro could come up with smaller set of weight pouches, (like the Oceanic Biolite's) they'd have a real winner here.  Overall, good, not great BCD.

I have not had a chance to try it yet. I am surprised Scubapro used a cheap tank band rather that the signature cam buckle. LeisurePro did substitute the newer model for the discontinued model for the same price. It looks good and should be a great BC.

Very Light weight BCD

I am still trying to figure out my long term placement of weights, knocker, whistle, surface marker buoy, etc. but I see this as a good thing. This light and easy setup kind of forces you to clarity - what do you need and where do you want it? I love it.

Like wearing nothing.

Used this BC and Octo addition on 4 dives last week. Used 12 lbs of weight utilizing the aft pockets and the side pockets that come on the BC. Super comfortable and user friendly. For the price,  why buy anything else. Easy inflation and deflation. Can?Äôt say anything bad about this BC.

Light weight and easy to pack. Bought this for my wife. Size is perfect. Great customer service. Ordered a 2013 discontinued model but it was not available so Leisure Pro substituted the 2016 model for the same price. Very happy with BCD.
