Rating: good attachment points for an instrument panel
Reviewer: JOHN FRASER, Tuesday, April 20, 2010 - View all my reviews
i got the Octo Holder because of the way it attaches rather than the break away feature and use it to hold my instrument panel. the loop end fits thru small openings in the instrument panel better than a clip does and the length can be adjusted by looping it or tying a knot. the partial metal clip is more sturdy than some plastic ones that i have had which snapped off.
during one dive my HP hose snagged and the Octo Holder broke away and i didnt get hung up. that was nice - the less complications during a dive, the better.

Rating: Keep looking
Reviewer: Michael F., Saturday, December 27, 2008
Did a few tests with other people when I received this one, and found it to be very inconsistent .. ranging from appropriate to entirely unfit levels of pressure to cause it to release. There are much better designs out there, and I would recommend to keep looking. (As I will be.)

this is a great iteam, holds well and easy break away. i did read other reviews and see some think it holds to well. it does if you velcro straight, keeping the break away velcro part lined up, it does hold too strong. but if you attach the velcro sideways it holds well but releases easy.

Rating: Very Convenient

The breakaway octo holder is really nice, the key is you cant tight the velcro all the way otherwise youre going to have an hard time under water to release it. Tight just the tip of the velcro this will make it tigh enought to hold your octo but at the same time easy enought to release it with a single pull. 1000% recommended

But if I ever do, it will provide easy access to my octo.

Rating: Restraining the Octopus
Reviewer: Tom Chisholm, Monday, September 17, 2007 - View all my reviews
Your "octopus" needs to be both restrained and at the same time instantly accessable. This velcro=based holder provides a secure mounting point for the spare second stage, decreasing the liklihood of it getting entangled or coming loose, while still providing a simple, quick release when needed. No more buckles to squeeze or pockets to open, and no more dangling regulators tangled in kelp.

Rating: Dont hold too tight!
Reviewer: Douglas Sourbeer, Tuesday, July 24, 2007
This simple holder works fine if you dont put the velcro tab that attaches to the octo too far into the holder. If it is left with all the vecro engaged your budy will plant his feet on your chest trying to pull the octo free. Only a small portion of the velcro tongue should go into the holder. With that said it works ok and keeps your octo from dragging.
