Excellent product! I only wish that I would have purchased prior to going to the Bahamas this summer. It takes great pics, very clear and in focus. Does show the inside corners of the lens barrell though...but easily cropped out.

Rating: Sealife SL970 wide angle lens
Reviewer: david sisson, Friday, September 19, 2008
I use the SL970 wide angle lens with my Sealife DC500 camera. My wife and I frequently dive in Cozumel, famous for large walls, and towering coral formations. The SL970 was able to capture the scale of the large coral formations very nicely, giving you a sense of what its like to be there. It also allows you to get close to subjects while capturing the surroundings, and allowing the flash to illuminate the subjects, eliminating those blue looking shots you get without a wide angle. The lens snaps easily on and off the camera housing making it easy to change your shooting modes. A lens storing dock is available too, which easily stores the lens when not in use. On the down side, the lanyard which tethers the lens to the camera housing, has an awkward plastic clip, which sometimes becomes un-attached, requiring some vigilance. Overall, a great tool for improving your underwater photos, and I would highly reccomend it.

Rating: nice wide angle lens for underwater
Reviewer: scott oliver, Thursday, July 05, 2007 - View all my reviews
i used this extra lens on a sealife dc600 on 15 dives in bonaire. it does help extend focused depth of field in photos and allows you to get closer to fish/coral/etc to get good details and still fit the main object in the photo. there was occasional darkened areas in the corners of some photos, but they were easily cropped out of the photos. it also gives interesting results on photos taken above water almost circular frame with fish-eye effect.

Rating: EASY TO USE!!!!

LOVE that this lens can be put on and taken off underwater!!! The docking station can be mounted right to the cameras bottom but only if you buy a longer screw for it yourself, no big deal. Wide angle lens blocks the cameras flash.

Rating: A must have for the DC600!
Reviewer: David T., Thursday, May 31, 2007 - View all my reviews
While I give the camera itself somewhat mixed reviews, the wide-angle lens is AMAZING! Pops out of the holder and onto the camera in seconds, even underwater (so no topside decisions on which lens to go with). Funny thing is I ended up taking almost all of my shots with the wide-angle in place. Allows you to capture more of the subjects surroundings (coral, sponges, etc) as well as large subjects without being out of the cameras optimal focal point (I captured a 110-ft wreck almost in its entirety from <10 ft off the port-side bow). You will definitely want to add the lens holder that attaches to the bottom of the strobe base.

Rating: Wider the better
Reviewer: Geoffrey Wilson, Thursday, October 12, 2006 - View all my reviews
I bought this along with my dc500, I am glad I did it has in my opinion given me a better range of pictures. Especially for the price it beats the competitors prices and in my opion is just as good. The only draw back is a shadow in the upper right corner but all you have to do is adjuste the wide and telephot lense and it goes away. Thumbs up
