Rating: Awesome camera
Reviewer: Christine F., Friday, November 06, 2009
We went to the Bahamas for a dive trip but that was cancelled so we went snorkeling - the camera was easy to use and took great pictures! We added a float strap for safety and were able to easily pass the camera from person to person. Definately review the buttons before a trip - we did and had no problems. Great Buy!!

Rating: great diving camera
Reviewer: Michael D., Friday, September 11, 2009
I was first able to try out my new Sealife DC1000 this past week. I was diving at Catalina Island in California. I was really impressed with the cameras video capabilities. The quality was very good. The still pictures were also good. The battery life was excellent. It easily lasted the two dives including three videos and some out of water photography. Controls were easy to use, but you should practice before you get in the water. The camera also takes very good pictures out of the water. I would highly recommend this camera.

This camera is easy to operate! First time with a housed underwater camera, but was easy to figure out within minutes. Sometimes I found the glare on the housing difficult to see what I was actually seeing in the viewfinder but I am sure all underwater cameras are the same. Definatley happy with the purchase.

Rating: "One Love" Jamaica & Sealife DC1000 - Ya Mon!
Reviewer: Mark W., Saturday, July 04, 2009
I purchased the just Sealife DC1000 prior to our family vacation to Jamaica. I had been looking at the Sealife DC800, however, found the Sealife DC1000 on-line at Scuba.com. All said and done, Sealife DC1000 was less expensive than the Sealife DC800 and has many new and improved features.
After dialing in the Sealife DC1000 for a day or two while snorkeling off the beach, I took it diving with me and was quite impressed with the pictures it took. With the depth, water color, size, and picture quality automatic settings, the camera becomes virtual idiot proof.
I purchased a 16 gig card and took nearly 800 pictures at the highest picture quality setting during our week in Jamaica. The pictures were awesome even at depths approaching 100 feet, on a somewhat overcast day, with good vis.
The Sealife DC1000 is a great buy and will satify both beginner and more advanced underwater photograhers.
Ya Mon!

Rating: Happy customer

The camera was great. The multiple settings on the camera were numerous and easy to access and pick. We used the snorkeling, landscape, and auto modes for our pictures. The pictures came out great - even the river tubing ones. Most pictures were clear even though they were taken with some movement by the photographer (me). I was pleased at how easy the waterproof case was to use - including installing the moisture munchers (they have a special spot to install them). The reason I rated the camera at 4 stars is the delay in picture taking. I prefer SLR and DSLR cameras for that reason. In the water the delay is not as noticeable because of the difficulty of moving and taking pictures in the water. On land though, I wanted to click pictures faster, but the camera had to pause to record the picture before it was ready to shoot another picture. This seems to common for cameras of this size.

Rating: Amazing underwater camera
Reviewer: Laura B., Thursday, June 18, 2009
This camera is great because it is super simple to use and can be used for land and sea. The underwater options are great because it adds a red hue to the lens which makes your pictures come out crystal clear with brilliant pictures. Phenomenal quality!! A great purchase

The DC1000 has been a great camera so far. Ive had it for about a month and have taken many photos, both underwater and on land, and have been very happy. I havnt taken it past 25ft yet, but Im confident it will be fine. Buy more moisture munchers off the bat, you will need them.
